Set in Sheffield, against the backdrop of the Miner’s Strike of 1984, Goodbye Winter tells the story of wheel-chair bound Albert, and the mysterious phone calls that he receives from his long dead friend Bill Trummell. Meanwhile, Sean, Albert’s Son (a striking miner) struggles to comprehend his fathers’ apparent delusions. The bitter cold of the winter, and the isolating effects of his circumstances drive Albert to emotional excesses from which he will not recover. |
