Details:

Thom is confused, he only recently discovered that Israel might have more meaning to him than he ever thought it would have. After losing his mother he finds out that he’s Jewish and that his grandmother is still alive and is currently living in Israel. He didn’t even know she existed. Thom decides to go and visit her in Tel Aviv, to figure out what this all means to him. He wants to know about his family history and find out why his mother never told him anything. But can his grandmother help him? When he finally arrives at his grandmothers correct address, after a rocky ride through Israel, she appears to be in an Alzheimer’s center. His grandmother is a grumpy woman, who doesn’t know who Thom is and really isn’t that interested in him either. The nurse encourages Thom to come back the next day. He does, and even though her Alzheimer regularly drives him to despair he intends to spend as much time with her as he possibly can during his short time in Israel. During their time together, Thom’s grandmother occasionally has lucid moments. Thom and his grandmother appear to have some similarities and share some wonderful experiences.
