What comes to mind when you hear the word father? Does protector, supporter and the overall responsibility for their children come to mind? A role this important should not be taken lightly. Yet, many kids today are growing up without a model that will shape and form their ideas of fatherhood for the future. And are left lacking an identity for the present. The very essence of the word father surfaces wounds in many peoples’ thoughts and actions. What if those thoughts changed? What if there was an example of a protector and supporter that was so passionate about making a difference in his kids’ lives, that he stopped thinking about himself and pushed through everything, even a life taking illness, to be the father his kids needed?
