Margaret Talley is a obsessive bookworm reader addicted to the works of a particular mystery writer, Barrett Edy. Edy has died leaving a series of her favorite books unpublished. She has located an obscure book dealer, George Spoetzl, who acquired the unpublished works after Edy’s death and is willing to exchange them for some retro books Margaret claims she has. They arrange a meet at a seedy motel to make the swap but Spoetzl discovers Margaret doesn’t have the goods she said. To compromise, she offers her body, he accepts but before the exchange, he insults the author, causing the psychotic Margaret to fly into a rage, killing Spoetzl, only to find out the books are ruined by Bookworms.
