In 1988 life in a small southern town was generally comfortable. You mind your own business, don’t rock the boat, go to church on Sunday, and embrace the status quo. Then along comes a bunch of rowdy long haired headbangers who, thanks in large part to one unique landlord, shake up the scene and create their own little heavy metal world right in the buckle of the bible belt. The Knoxville music scene was changed forever when an unrented downtown office basement opened its doors to the otherwise unwelcome tenants who brought mischief, mayhem, and metal to the ROCKHOUSE. |
