Larry Blanchard, a desperate formerly hot L.A. film director, will be tossed onto the street with his dog if he can’t come up with the rent this morning. But he has hope. He’s driving to a crummy bar in the Valley to meet with an ‘independent producer’ who has offered him a film, starting this week, and who also owes him money.. By the end of the morning, Larry has been double crossed, triple crossed, and saved by a fraud squad detective, his lawyer, an elderly con game victim, a cocktail waitress who is really a screen writer, a plastics mogul, and the mogul’s Nirvana-seeking wife. |
