The Biosophical Institute was founded by Dr. Frederick Kettner, renowned scholar and follower of the teachings of the great philosopher, Baruch de Spinoza. NYC in the 1920’s was a hotbed of intellectual exploration. The Institute’s goal of developing and nurturing the peace nature within individuals gave rise to a unique community of Spinozans. The Institute became a private non-profit foundation in 2003, providing grants and funding for peace related projects. The Biosophical Institute held a reunion in 2007. In attendance were Biosophy’s founding members and the adult children who grew up guided by its values and beliefs. This is their story. |
