A mother and her young daughter want different things. In a snapshot of their world, there is much space and disagreement and frustration between them, and their thoughts and actions defy and rejoice in the environment around them. Shot in Glasgow in virtually one take per shot, in an eight hour shoot, Splash’ is a short independent film, written by artist and psycologist Amanda Adler, who felt so altered by the many alarming family cases she encountered, that the story of ‘Splash’ poured out of her. Shot by 19 year old film-maker Daniel Hughes and performed by SXSW ‘Best Actress’ - Jody Jameson and newcomer Jamie-Jo Davran, the project was to bring passionate people together to tell this short, arresting story. |
