Details:

Short film documentary about pioneer writer of the 70’s literary Chicano movement Rolando Hinojosa. A poetic journey through the origins of his inspiration, his hometown, and his thoughts about literature, war, and life. Mr. Hinojosa’s work has been compared with that of William Faulkner, and Tomas Rivera. He has won several literary prices such as ‘Quinto Sol’, and he was the first Mexican American writer to win ‘El Premio Casa de las Americas’, one of the most important literary prices in Hispanic Literature. HINOJOSA portrays the literary spirit of Mr. Hinojosa’s work and his relationship with it. It is constructed with evocative, contemplative sequences, and pieces of an interview that, as the film advances, becomes an art manifesto.
