OUROBOROS is the directorial debut of Matthew Hammett Knott, featuring BAFTA award winner Anamaria Marinca, star of the 2007 Palme d’or winner 4 Months 3 Weeks & 2 Days. Damien is an amateur reptile breeder who lives in a room filled with geckos and a chameleon that refuses to mate; Eva is his latest one-night stand. OUROBOROS is the story of their relationship over a single day. The tale unfolds through an intriguing split narrative, with one side a tender romance, and the other an absurd black comedy. Neon illuminated tanks and artificial sunlight clash with kaleidoscopic reptile skins, human bodies and an increasingly enigmatic tattoo. OUROBOROS is a weird and wonderful hymn to the truths that emerge when man and beast live under one roof. |
