The Guy is the story of a young boy, David, who wants to join in with the local gang of boys who are building a bonfire, led by Jack. David is spurned by Jack so decides to build a Guy for himself. While trying to “acquire”some fireworks, the gang leaders steal David’s Guy. David misses his new friend and manages to rescue him back from the gang. On bonfire night, the gang wait for David at his house and steal his back. Jack burns the Guy on the bonfire. Distraught, David attacks Jack and the adults at the bonfire party rush forward and chase Jack away. The other gang members now realize how upset David is and race after Jack. The next day the gang offer a football to David as a peace offering, he accepts and joins in with the gang. |
