‘Katarina in the Snow’ is a story about a lonely young Vermonter struggling to break free of anxiety, depression, and fear. Her dog’s death prompts Katarina to break out of her shell and visit Jenna, her secret crush, and Manny, her ex. During a romantic dinner with Jenna, Katarina’s heart thaws and she takes a leap of faith. But an unexpected accident puts Katarina’s convictions and emotions in sharp relief. Katarina’s dreams and the faulty memory of her audio recorder reveal her inner workings to her throughout her travels; through them, ‘Katarina in the Snow’ becomes a reminder of the puzzle pieces that make up our lives, and the triumph of shedding our fears despite the possible consequences. |
