Details:

Looks at India as an example of the problems encountered by developing countries . The role of foreign aid is examined: in particular, the part played by British aid in India’s development. The village of Rais Ser in Rajasthan illustrates the problems of water scarcity. Pump-driven wells and canals, new strains of wheat and grass, soil testing, fertilizers, tractors, cross breeding and training in farming techniques transform crop, cattle, sheep and buffalo farming.
