Constructed over the course of two years and shot throughout the American South, Midwest, and West, Earthbound is a meditation on a perceived wilderness. Often shifting style, tone, and theme in contradictory and illogical ways, Earthbound seeks to express an inherent quality that exists within the transitory American experience. The structure is loosely based on the 19th century ‘tone poem’ in which places, narratives, and paintings are impressionistically expressed through a non-verbal, continuous movement. |
