A man and a woman meet on the streets of Shoreditch and then at the British Museum. Recognition and attraction soon turn to obsession, leading to acts of love in the hidden woods and graveyards of the East End of London. The story is told through seven short (c. 2 minute), sections mixing realism and visionary elements. The film was shot entirely in public spaces as a form of cinematic street art. There were no rehearsals. Each was allowed to evolve through living out the story in front of the camera. The film is silent other than for a short voiced-over poem in each section - the effect is to tighten the dramatic tension and deepen what is anyway a stunning visual impact. |
