Details:

Antonio Gaudi (1852 - 1926) ‘Only they remain and will endure who touch the sensitive hearts of man’ This was written by Le Corbusier when prefacing a book on Gaudi in 1957. It was one of the first accolades conferred on Antonio Gaudi by anyone outside Spain. Until then his work was regarded with derision and as insane fantasy even causing George Orwell to state in 1938 the the Anarchists showed bad taste in not blowing up the Sagrada Familia when they had the opportunity. But, the basis of fantasy is reality. The basis of reality is fantasy. On the acceptable borderline is genius and on the unacceptable is madness. And what’s madness to one generation can be genius to another.
