Details:

Pinfeathers is no ordinary love story. A man (Joe Seely, Nightmare on Elm Street: Dream Child) with his dreams and nothing else and a woman (Brynn Horrocks, Rob Zombie’s Lords of Salem) ready to stop compromising herself encounter one another in a dream woven together on the breath of an unfinished angel (Sarabeth Tuceck, Flatliners, Uprising). As they sleep, the angel weaves them intimately close. In their waking lives they encounter a hat-pin fetishist (Dennis Holahan, Brian DePalma’s Scarface), junkie (Annie Grindlay, K2), and rapist (Dean Minerd). When they finally meet they are struck dumb by the intense familiarity. And then … Pinfeathers is one of the last films made by hand at the American Film Institute before digital was in widespread use. It was afforded creative freedoms seldom seen now. It was filmed on location in downtown Los Angeles at The American Hotel and Al’s Bar, L.A.’s CBGB. Pinfeathers received the Silver Plaque at the Chicago International Film Festival, screened in Seattle and was favorably reviewed in The Stranger, Seattle Times, and the New York Times, which described it as having a “Salammbô -like decadence.”
