Details:

In 2012 the Cook Islands announced the largest Marine Park on Earth. In stunning 4K imagery this film tells the story of how Kevin Iro, founder of the park, and his team use a high tech GIS system to designate multi-use areas inside the pristine park. Throughout this film, we will meet with competing interest groups, such as fishermen, conservationists, and miners, and discover how they want to use the resources of the marine park. Kevin has an ambitious plan to plot all the different areas of usage on an interactive map, and take it to the people of the Cook Islands to gather their support. By getting stakeholder and local community input, as well as scientific survey data all embedded in one GIS, a clear plan about how to use the park emerges.
