Ruth is a 16 years old Israeli girl with a passion for Argentinean history and culture. She is also highly verbal and tends to get in to trouble for that. After insulting her school teacher and making her cry, the other kids in her class start to hate her. To deal with her complex emotions, she writes a poem called โA Song for My Own Deathโ, which is also the name of her favorite Argentinean song. Again, she finds herself misunderstood by the people around her. The film tackles the issue of miscommunication, and the frustration that comes form trying and failing to explain oneself to anther person. It is also about loneliness and music, and about the teenage passion for far away things. |
