Once on a winter morning, the crafty Fox came out into the woods for the prey. She tried to catch Black grouse, but he did not yield to her insidious persuasion. So Fox failed to eat. An angry Fox, noticing how a man catches a fish in a hole, went on a trick: lay down on the road and pretended to be dead. Returning, the man raised the Fox and threw her into the sleigh: “Will be useful on the collar for the old woman!” And Fox on the way threw out all the fish from the sleigh, jumped herself and began to eat. She didn’t give a single fish to the Wolf, but taught him how to fish in an ice hole, on the tail. The simple-minded Wolf believed Fox’s words, did as she advised, his tail got frozen to the ice hole. The women who came for water, saw the Wolf and started to beat him. The Wolf escaped from reprisal, leaving his tail in the ice-hole. And Fox wanted to eat a chicken, but instead she landed in the bowl with a dough. Finally she got into the paw of the dog and got what she deserved.
