Children and Art is a short dance movie featuring the renowned dance artist Carmen de Lavallade, dancing to a recording of Stephen Sondheim’s song ‘Children and Art,’ from his musical ‘Sunday in the Park with George,’ and sung by Maria Friedman, with Mr. Sondheim on piano. This movie has been screened at the Dance on Camera Festival at Lincoln Center, and Greensboro Dance Film Festival, and featured in events at the Baryshnikov Arts Center, Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, Dance on Camera Festival, the 92nd St. Y/Harkness Dance Program Movement Talks, and the Gibney Dance Center |
