Details:

In a whimsical sci-fi parody, the Matriarch queen regnant of the Clypton galaxy sends one of her rookie space explorers, Marto, on a mission to earn his stripes: he must journey to the far reaches of the universe to learn all he can about “…this mysterious thing, this device called, ‘Omnimax,’” which is rumored to exist only on the planet Earth. Along the way, and with the help of an unlikely tour guide - a living, breathing Omnimax theater named Max - the intrepid Marto not only discovers the iconic sights, sounds, and bigger-than-life spectacle of New York City and the Tri-state region, but also learns the meaning of freedom while making a novel friend for life. As a destination signature film, ‘Welcome to the Max’ was used primarily to lead off a twin-bill show in the world’s largest, 400-seat Imax Dome® cinema, and served to attract family visitors to a new, $50-million science and technology museum, Liberty Science Center, adjacent the Statute of Liberty and Ellis Island. Moreover, the film introduced the medium of Omnimax®, itself, to the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut region, and enjoyed a daily, continuous, paid-attendance run of 4+ years.
