A couple returns home after a night out at a formal event, communicating only through the way they avoid each other and through their silence. From their body language, we gather something has gone awry. He goes upstairs to remove his jacket. She throws herself into concocting a midnight snack, still wearing her dress. He returns and nervously eyes her at work. He enters the kitchen to fix himself a drink and a dance of avoidance commences, ending up with each on opposite sides of a tight kitchen. He slowly approaches her, unable to read her from behind. He starts to seduce her; she bristles, still assembling her elaborate sandwich. He continues, moving closer. When she finally warms to his advances, the unexpected occurs. |
