Rather than rush home to confront him, he stays in Germany and explores Eric’s world, ultimately locating the mother that abandoned them both. A series of discoveries makes Thomas realize he prefers his own life to his brother’s, and he heads back to London to pick up where he left off. But Eric has created a home with Lily and is not about to surrender the life he always dreamed of.
