While growing up in Detroit, Kristian Hill heard about Mandela, whose icon status grew even more after he gained his freedom and served as South African president. Curious to find out about the incredible man for himself, Kristian heads to South Africa and meets with locals in Joburg, Cape Town and Soweto to hear from art gallery owners, local businessmen and others just what Mandela means to them. In learning about Mandela and getting to know South Africa, Hill increases his appreciation for Mandela’s accomplishments and his personal connection to Africa.
