Despite being diagnosed with a devastating brain disease, archaeologist Kathy Deane (45) still leaves the safety of her marriage for a man she barely knows. That means an uneasy truce with his father, David. Entranced by the Peninsula, Kathy decides, single-handedly, to save it. But stealing priceless treasures from the museum where she works, as part of a horribly ill-conceived plan to stop the airport, not only threatens to destroy her relationship with Nick; it means Kathy will be arrested for theft, and possibly worse. Abandoned by a furious Nick, Kathy finds an unlikely ally in David. Through him she discovers that there is tragedy at the heart of his relationship with Nick. Aware that time has run out, that her illness is robbing her of empathy, Kathy makes one last attempt to heal the rift between father and son.
