Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, 1984: When Jesse Was Born is the story of a blue-collar family as they welcome their third son into their chaotic world. Stuggling through life, Harold Ferrell engages in criminal activity to provide for his family, while fourteen-year-old Danny, a gentle boy in love for the first time, tentatively negotiates his conflicting needs to please his father and to challenge his destructive patterns.
