What happens when fleeting passion overwhelms reason? What’s the price of obsession? From the enveloping comfort of kindred hearts to the arid desolation of shattered lives, Crashing witnesses the destruction that mindless desire inflicts on unwitting souls. This is a story of instinct. Unseen motives and cruel desires buried under a near paradise, cut clean through accidental homicide and ultimately laid bare out in the California wastes. The film, like all good mysteries, leaves the evidence just out of view. Under the water, desire swims deep below the unforgiving rip tide. Hidden beneath the desert scrub, below a rocky and cancerous dirt, lay helpless bones pinned down by the hammer of sexual dependency. A specter waits for them out on the highway. He blocks their escape and he’s ready to pass judgment. A decision must be made. |
