So very sad that this is over. Not many shows out there that could both crack you up and at the same time actually make you feel good and maybe leave you with a little hope for people in general, but this managed to do just that.

Agreed, & I’ve had loved ones lost to suicide & corona. This is made by people who don’t understand either & enjoyed by people who know even less.

It is crazy thou how her values and drift is so accepted and normalized, yeah even favored in USA. For me it looks like a very deep dive in escaping from an inability to connect with nature and the world as a whole. A sickness of politically concocted/class inflicted, diminished identity resulting in artificial needs and confusion. Already that I engage and my eyes get teared up at the “grand” points in the show are a proof that I’m right and “they” intentionally have hired middle class climbers/sellouts to sell us and our class’s emotional vulnerabilities cheap for climb points and scrimp coctails. Damned!! “They” got me again !! Wasn’t she so lovely in that white dress??

Completely overhyped movie… the trailer (which BTW was perfect!) reminded me a lot of Longlegs and the hype reminds me even more of that. Both are good movies but don’t desever the absurd PR hype. Waeapons was good with building atmosphere and the way the story is told was pretty smart and kept it interesting beyond its real content which was rather shallow and did not connect elements thriown into the plot in a satisfying way honestly. Till the resolution the movie has you interested but then its just disappointing in a way that seemes like they did not know how to get out of this.
Well made but i prefer Barbarian because that made me laugh out loud where this at most had me smirking in disbelief…. that joke with Justin Long in the middle of this movie was a great nod to Barbarian and shows how Cregger likes to fuck with the audiences expectations BTW.
Its basically the same recipe of tense atmosphere and a weird story sending you in different directions to get you confused and then just using utter absurdity bordering on comedy to make fun of the genre and itself. The final minutes is where this movie totally lost me.

Oh yea, Robert Mitchum plays creepy so well. He was mesmerizingly creepy in Night of the Hunter too.

Eleven shows she wants from Acorn. I’m grateful there’s a like-minded community here that keeps mystery/crime dramas alive! (If I had the means I’d pay for Acorn or Flixtor even, but, Jellyfin and OpenSubtitles dot com is something I can do, since she’s so afraid of a mouse.)

Exactly ! After the drawn out, Artsy crafty, stiff and pompous Victorian era, King Edward ( who was quite a dandy) fell in love with Europe, espesh France. His Edwardian era, reflected a playful, practical, decorative, ornate and grandiose style. Fashion reflected affluency and intricate details. New money could show off their wealth in their grand homes and clothing…and so, the Gilded era was exactly the time to show off everything hardworking entrepreneurs had made. Old money, which basically flaunted lineage, wasn’t important anymore - the new money was suddenly EVERTHING ! So your lovely home reflects all that madness of the time, no doubt lol
