I’d give it a 3-3.5/5. It’s good. The acting is top notch, of course. How could it not be with those 2. I just kinda wanted more to happen, but it’s def watchable.

A little update on the reboot…..no update available about its production schedule or release date. However, if all goes well, the fans will likely find it sooner rather than later, in theaters. Which means next year probably.

Well, a bit of bad news for Welliver! CBS has opted not to move forward with the actor’s proposed spinoff of The Equalizer. But Welliver will appear in the series Ballard and his appearance might be increased after CBS pulled out of the spinoff.

It’s kind of weird seeing names of little towns you know. I was born in Kimball,Nebraska. It is a really small town with only 2100 people. Durango, Colo is only a couple hours from me, so is Rawlins, Wy.

Since you brought up the Monroe-Miller marriage, and how Rebecca might have had Marilyn for a mother (Rebecca was born a month and 11 days after Monroe died), I was thinking about what sort of kid Marilyn and Arthur might have had. Probably a very different one…but I’d like to think maybe the kid still might have had a shot at being a terrific writer like Rebecca.

random000 6 points 8 months ago.

That’s always something to ponder. The what-ifs of a reality stream never taken gives a lot of food for thought. Seems the need to self-express would be present in any kid Miller would have had, and I think Monroe too. Marilyn’s sister Mona & her daughter co-wrote the only authorized Monroe biography. True, it’s not Death Of A Salesman, but it’s the life of Marilyn.

She Came to Me (2023)
random000 6 points 8 months ago.

Yes Rebecca who was very nearly Marilyn Monroe’s daughter but by a cosmic miss. I think my favorite thing she did was The Ballad Of Jack & Rose with her husband Daniel. Love the Meyerowitz Stories too, even though her acting part was small & Baumbach did that with Sandler. Proof with Hopkins isn’t too shabby either.

And lest we forget, Rebecca Miller, the daughter of the magnificent writer Arthur Miller, is the writer and director! Every movie I have seen of hers (Personal Velocity, Angela, The Ballad of Jack and Rose, The Private Lives of Pippa Lee) has been intelligent, insightful, unpretentiously quirky, and original. Most of her films were adapted from her own novels. Can’t hurt her prestige factor that Daniel Day-Lewis married her.

Famous in its time, this flick ranked with Close Encounters & Jaws. It was co-written by Beatty, famed for being a playboy for sure. Has a lot to say about not just sleeping around, but whoring. Political whoring specifically. And the political ignorance of Americans specifically who are a bit too self absorbed.

Has quite a cast, including Beatty’s sweetheart Julie Christie, Lee Grant, Goldie Hawn, Jack Warden, and a early appearance of Debbie Reynold’s 19 year old daughter Carrie Fisher before she became Star Wars Princess Leah a year later. Even has Mama’s & Papa’s Michelle Phillips (California Dreaming), Playboy Centerfold Cyndi Wood, WKRPs Howard Hessman in cameos, among others.

Amidst all the established talent is daughter of Thomas Jane & Patricia Arquette, Harlow Olivia Jane (from High Desert). It’s certainly off-kilter, but we dig it. Her ignorance of cultures and having appropriate and legitimate pregnancy prevention methods denied a world knowledge, among other things. It’s an atrocity against women and against knowledge. Anyone who states otherwise is ignorant and perpetuating abuse. She did dio good, because it is rare this anyone is all bad no doubt, but she perpetuated abuse out of her her lack of insight and her ignorance . We can all do more, with the power of one! I had just read that the Vatican began the Canonization process after her death and Mother Teresa was declared a saint. I am elated to have learned this. Her Sainthood was declared on Sept 4, 2016 by Pope Francis. Dear Mother Tereasa, you are a remarkable woman and if everyone of us could do just a few things you did in your life time, the world would be a much happier, safer place. RIP Tereasa
