Well, at times both actors are a bit too cocky, and it can/has carried over into the characters they portray. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Agreed! Usually the U.S does a good job translating U.K shows like The Office or Shameless but they utterly failed in this attempt.
Nothing will ever be able to compete with the original, IMHO.

Not what I was expecting, animated rather then live action. Animation was decent, and plenty of action, not great but not really bad either. Worth a watch I suppose. I’ll probably come back at some point and check out the next episode, they seem to be about 30 minutes long.

I have watched every Star Trek movie, or series, since 1967. Sorry not the cartoons, or Orville, although I did watch a few, & enjoyed it. I am saving the episodes to get a few under my belt before watching. I love this new iteration, & am enjoying the comments. I don´t look at spoilers. Just thought I´d share. Live long, & prosper.

I think there was a similar episode in one of the original Star Trek 1960’s season. Me & my brother watched it every week and then we would watch the reruns in the summer. Lost in Space was the first series dealing with space travel and rather silly compared to ST. But when Star Trek arrived, Lost in Space didn’t stand a chance and was canceled.

Man is it just or were all of these obviously copied from the same source i.e. they all are bad pixelated quality. (Not terrible terrible but just given this is such a detailed show and new it should be obviously very high def.)

Hope they don’t. The ha’a, while having some limited basis in Hawaiian tradition, is largely a modern reinvention that was created because the University of Hawai’i’s football team was taking flak for appropriating the haka from the Māori, including the potential for legal action against them by the All Blacks, whose haka is performed with explicit permission from Māori tribes.
