jadius, are you implying Denzel isn’t a huge commercial draw anymore? And what, are you basing that on the movies he’s made for the last 10 years? WTF. Just because his movies have made an average of $2,000,000 in that time against 15 million budgets doesn’t mean people don’t generally watch him anymore. Jaded.

jadius -3 points 5 months ago.

no i am implying nothing about Denzel or implying anything at all. i literally said one of the 3 guys he mentioned has been dead for 3 years and hasn’t released a film in 30 years if you saw that and thought i was implying Denzel isn’t a huge commercial draw anymore them maybe you might be stupid

Considering the consequences, nothing free about it. Whole other can of worms. It does circle back to the nostalgia of this show though, since manufacturing memories for today’s children is demonstrably worse than it ever was for us.

The first 3 esp. are action packed. Most of the actors are well known from other TV series. Great production, action, actor. What is not to like?

yes everything is made in 3rd world countries. Thanks Free trade that was a great idea. Make it impossible for the companies were grew up with to stay here and make money. I miss the days when it was simpler times

Yep, that kind of nonsense is everywhere. Cabinet handles aren’t 1-piece construction - they’re 3 & fail in middle. Doorknobs use to be 4 pieces, all metal. Now they’re about 12 pieces & the moving internal parts are made of lousy plastic that fails on stress points, etc.

Makes me long for the days of simple hydro rocket that can be launched 40 feet up with a small well-made hand-pump. Or a no-frills water-wiggle. Put it on the end of a garden hose; turn it on- watch it stand up & run around as the water sprinkles everyone. Basic.

After watching this show via downloaded episodes from these sites I never knew Robot and SAR had a conversation about the effect Will had on Robot . So rewatching via Netflix i just found out there were subtitles for that conversation between the two bots 😱.

I didn’t realize that Jeremy Renner was in this movie. I tried watching this movie about a year ago and I just couldn’t get into. I stopped watching it before Renner appeared. Not sure if I want to go back and watch it again.

It blows my mind how many children die from poorly made toys. I used to be even paranoid of soothers that babies suck on. They call them binkies now. I was told to buy the ones that didn’t have separate parts that could come off. Of course that kind cost 2 times more than the other.

Ouch. I’m unaware of dissolving cartilage & hopefully yours stays where it is since it does look fine & no clue you had a ball injury.

All that stuff can still happen though. Sledding into cement, getting bashed by a ball, etc. Parents may want to knuckle under to a wuss nanny-state, but all the helmet & purell paranoia is no substitute for live & learn (even though irresponsible toy manufacturers must be held accountable via oversight by strict transparent regulation - not be freed from it). My Spock doll didn’t choke me to death, but legal recourse should exist if it did.

Norma Jean’s 1st expanded role as the Marilyn Monroe character she invented is a favorite.

random000 5 points 5 months ago.

In the end, this movie was far in her rear view mirror & she went on to be instrumental in forever breaking up the studio system as it was known. This film however captures the earlier 1940s post war era, which is something she was not often associated with since her mega stardom was a thing of the 50s-60s.

Ladies of the Chorus (1949)
Susan Queen 1 points 5 months ago.

Yea, the little darling was only 21 years old in this movie and it was one of the three greasy old guys who co-founded 20th Century Fox , Joseph Schenck, that signed her up. I can just imagine how many casting couches she lay on before she got this break.

Ladies of the Chorus (1949)

After the first episode I’m a little mixed on it.

I guess I’d recommend it if you are still following the Marvel universe and liked the other shows. They’ve been hit or miss with me, I liked Daredevil and Punisher and Hawkeye and Scarlette Witch, but wasn’t big on Echo or Loki.

The trailer does a good job of showing you what it is. Sorry I can’t really be more definitive, lol.

Friendship (2025)
McCainiac 1 points 5 months ago.

This was so painful to watch. I figured from the trailer is was a thriller/dark comedy. If they wanted to make a decent movie they should’ve made Tim’s character likeable at first. Make it seem mean that he’s being treated like garbage. His character has zero redeeming qualities. I can’t tell if Tim just can’t act or if he was told to act that way. It’s completely unrealistic. I thought I was watching a Tim & Eric skit.

this season is just contradicting season 13 of 2005 doctor who, this omega didnt create the time lords it was the adoptive parent of doctor who that created them using the dna[or whatever its called that she did to the doctor with her regeneration] from the doctor herself cuz as the timeless child she was originally a girl. just cuz omega was the first person to create time travel doesnt mean he created the time lords, he just created time travel and thats it. time lords could not exist without the doctor. and for anyone else that would say otherwise they called themselves time lords as a species and no other word but time lords.
