im enjoying cronenberg’s more lynchian phase, still with his auteur style a la crash, even existenz like organic flesh theories and kink-like perception warping subtexts, but there is a sidewaysness that lynch went in the final twin peaks that im getting hints of, that darker mysterious underworld

Even the game Alien: Dark Descent is a great adaptation of Aliens. Well worth the play-through if you haven’t.

They’ve been doing this for awhile. They have a dozen or so “anthologies” that are the full movies cut down to 30 minutes or so. A couple weirdly work, since they used movies that weren’t great to begin with.
This crap? This makes The Legacy look like an award winner.

I need some Pepto-Bismol after watching this. The vignettes were written the night before deadline by half-awake writers who just didn’t give a damn anymore. Shirley MacLaine couldn’t do a thing with them, but she tried. 1967-1969 weren’t fantastic years for cinema in my opinion, as Hollywood/European cinema were going through fundamental changes that were shaking up the industry and would soon lead to the 1970s advent of the first independent film wave. This movie is best thought of as an artifact.

Best episode of an overall very disappointing season so far.

So glad this is back and with such amazing sights and adventures to share that prove this world is a magical, mysterious place. Especially the Auntie, wow, how awesome would an occurrence like that be in person! Mind blowing!!
