Pluribus (2025) S1 E5
Whether I think the show is good or bad, I just hate a show that offers nothing more than 1 or 2 main semi important main events per episode and a roadmap of cliff-hangered season with very little events to have happened in the whole season. And I thought Siloās last season was slow?!! I think I misjudged it at this point. Ngl breaking bad, for example, had super cliffhangers but the show fed my soul with many conclusive events happening each and every episode, ending with more to look forward to. The building up of the story was just immense! There was some serious writing there. I have only seen it once and I canāt believe it was just 13 episode (sometimes less, sometimes a bit more) per season. That thing felt like the good old 24 episode per season but condensed. The episodes were just rich!
Do not read the following if you feel totally fine with the show and donāt want to ruin your experience!
This one, and I canāt deny it, is tempting to watch. But it lives on anticipatory tension and intermittent reinforcement. One of the worst strategies a show could follow. Nothing really happens, but your brain tell you to keep watching because the possibility of a payoff is always present. When she started visiting āplacesā and tried to find out stuff, held the cup of the material, thinking sheās so close of drinking it, my brain got a sip of dopamine but it wasnāt enough š. It depends on whatās called narrative tension without narrative density. They have a very simple short story with very poor writing and very little to offer and they need to spread that over 8 or 9 episodes and at the same time mentally obligate you to keep watching. It is kind of cheap if you understand how it works. Well at least the creators know exactly what they are doing. Hate me š.

You might be right, but the thing is, that will only last one season, then be done, and something will need to replace it. A lot depends on the ratings of this show. If itās Been getting good ratings, it might come back for a second season, which I hope it will, I would like to see a complete story for once. This would be a good one to see go from start to finish, no matter how it works out. Probably take a year or so before the next season would come out either way, so that would give them some time to get it done, and other shows would be finishing off, and that would leave a gap for the next season to fill. So thereās that.

It was already renewed for a second season so maybe it will be wrapped up sooner than later. Weāll see in a year or so.

Iām really not sure but Iām trying to figure it out, like she has been doing making lists:
1) Probably not the Soylent Green thing - because they donāt eat meat.
2) Crows were around, so it might be something dead, or grain-like?
3) It took her a second before she recognized whatever it was, and got the shocked expression.
4) It was in a refrigerated area so it was probably being preserved. So, it could have been a body?
5) No conclusions, but my hunch is that itās either her friend that she buried, or the replacement lady they gave her on the shelf! Long shot guess would be an Alien of some kind.
Thatās all Iāve got.

Those Points do sound good but she actually buried her Wife in her backyard , and donĀ“t forget that she chased the Wolves away with her Police Car :-D , Maybe A BODY , OR Bodies OR it could be something that keeps this āweā thing Virus alive , but what in the world is that stuff that she found in the Milk carts thats another Factor added to the Cliffhangher which makes it more interesting. And do notice that āWEā needs āspaceā for itself right now XD which is really hilarious we will all just have to wait and see I guess.
Its all just lucky guesses anyways for now. ;-)

yeah, you are right. Very shitty thing to do. It went over very quickly. But wasnāt the shame over it a driver for Bradly at some later point in the script (no defence)? As you say.. The normally promoted āAmerican wayā.. Me first, give me the hay! But for sure a weak point in the script.. No shining hero.

yeah ultimately this season was more disappointing and I felt less compelling then previous ones and lost my patience and sympathy for Bradely. but! curious to see what next year brings despite the soft propaganda this show throws in sometimes haha!

Great episode, but it brought back all those horrific memories of refrigerator trucks full of bodies and being afraid everywhere you went, especially if someone wasnāt wearing a mask. For two years, I only went to places that required a mask to get in. I pray we never have to go through anything like that again.

I worked from home for a year and a half. Came within a hairs breath of losing my brother to it. He spent 2 months in the hospital. That was 4 years ago and he has 2 side affects that he will have the rest of his life. I had a choice to work from home for a couple more months but knew I needed time to get use to be around people again, so I went back to work and at times just sat at my desk and shook from fear. I never want to go through that again!

Like many people I put off watching this because it veers away from the normal Predator formula; however, I am glad that I decided to watch it anyway. I liked it! It goes against everything we think we know about Predators and flips it on its arse. And that ending was new twist, but I liked it because it opens up a whole new chapter in the Predator franchise.

Unfortunately, Iām not sure if itās gonna last another season, but if it does, I think Itāll just be one more. Because of all the different networks, and all the new movies and shows coming out all the time, everyone wants to binge everything in one weekend now. I donāt think this series has enough body to keep everyone watching interested, especially with the drop of Stranger Things season 5 today. For the next few weeks, everyoneās going to be binging the last season of Stranger Things, and Pluribus is going to be left behind like a forgotten memory. Donāt get me wrong, this is a great series, and itās even one on my favorites list now, but thatās because Iām a huge fan of anything apocalyptic. Not everyoneās going to be as big a fan of this genre as myself and the rest of you are, and because of that, thereās gonna be a lot of people that canāt stay focused enough, to wait each week for a new episodeā¦ For something like that to happen, there would have to be more edge of your seat action, which this series doesnāt have. This one makes you have to think, and not everyone likes to do that while watching TV. There are a few cliff hangers, but not enough to keep the people interested.
If Iām wrong Iāll eat my words, but Iām rarely wrong when it comes to my TV.
