John and Quiet are definitely going to have to go against each other at the end. It is so predictable that John was gonna make his own wish.

It’s woke it’s old and it’s all played out! I really did want it to work, then we are all winners. Of course there’s a bright side, unfortunately they’ll be a number 3…It will absolutely boot number 2 out of last.
It’s a good little movie to play in the background.

good acting and the acrobatic scenes was crazy

The story takes its sweet time to settle in but that’s expected of this director. Overall I think it’s good but definitely not as good and intense as Hereditary and Midsommar. The dark humor and the satire aspect are appreciated.

As a non reader of the books. I can only guess how ggod they are. This series is going from strength to strength. The casting director has done an amazing job with the cast. All really good performances. The script and intereation with the characters to drive the narrative of the story along is so good. The FX and sets are top class, nothing looks cheap and tacky. If they can keep this up for the intended 8 seasons this may go down as a true Sci Fi masterpiece.

Great sequal to the first. Not quite as good, But a fun movies all the same. Worth a watch for the action scense alone. Nive to see Christopher Lloyd as Hutches old man. Sharon Stone makes a great baddy to boot.

Oh, thank you, you’re too kind. I’ve not had time to post much. The fall semester is about to start and I’ve been super busy. Not that I’m missed by certain people. Have you watched any of the new Alien episodes? It has gotten my attention and Aliens was my 1st R rated movie and spent most of the movie trying to crawl into my boyfriends lap. My friend was on the other side of him and she too was hugging his arm. Never was I so glad for a movie to end!

Great movie that’s what happens when you leave the woke nonsense out of it

DeoVindice88. -3 points 4 months ago*. (Contains Spoilers)

26 Minutes in and you can tell how very woke this movie is. The scene at the 25 minute mark drills that point in very clearly. You’d have to have some specials lenses on not to see that. Maybe nostalgia drives that comment and the ratings but with proper casting you coulda had a potentially top 10 film. None the less Tom is great as usual and If Connelly could just trim those eyebrows thanks.

The Man from Earth: Holocene (2018)
Geckoboy666 -4 points 4 months ago.

This is a poor sequal to the original that was an amazing film. All shot in a coulpe of rooms and an outside scene. This felt contirved to say the least. Making it just for the sake of it. Should have left it with the first one. Leaving the watcher always wondering.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (2022) S3 E6
Dvora -1 points 4 months ago.

I disagree Piglet …. Gene Roddenberry would not have had any Captain in his Star Trek universe killing/destroying the unknown so easily. In fact, so many of the episodes these days are about shooting to kill first and asking questions later … while Gene Roddenberry would have asked ALL the questions first.

AmieWarren 13 points 4 months ago.

Uh….only relevant question for this entity was “Are we going to let it kill us or are we going to kill it?” Didn’t they kill the doomsday machiine in the OG? There may still be some of those monsters out there somewhere. Guess we’ll find out.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (2022) S3 E6

Ya know, Gene Roddenberry had vision BUT he also came from a different generation, one that valued morals, integrity, individual conviction, social consciousness, community structure, and a strong sense of social justice. The writers today DO NOT have those qualities. They are of the newer generations, the self-serving generations, the generations that have made society what it is today. All they care about is creating a TV series with the best cgi to WOW viewers. I, for one, learned a lot from Gene Roddenberry’s original TV Star Trek series growing up. The show had integrity and that was important. Without Gene to lead the way this series has lost its way. Despite having a great cast this series has no integrity, no morals, no conviction, etc. The episodes are weak and sometimes ridiculously stupid. I find myself preferring to watch reruns of old Star Trek shows to get the Gene Roddenberry ‘feeling’ … to appreciate his vision and let my imagination merge with his.

i don’t share, nor understand your opinion. i can see your point in some episodes, but yes, after this one and your usage of the word “woke” you should go and rewatch the old star trek series. or at least try the last few minutes of this episode again. there you have all of your mentioned missing points and why it is so valid and important to internalize the shown lesson and realization for today’s world.
we as humankind, and you too, need more empathy for all living beings.

I LOVE THIS SHIT! Another one for the heart, I never for the last 15ys haven´t been so exited over a 2nd movie. The first movie has become an instant classic to me, like the 5th Element- good cinema.
After all the schlob & Dei lectures this is a solid movie with all that´s good.
Maybe we get a third story? I effing hope so. This movie has earned its place, it´s here to stay.

I sort of miss those days when you only had 3 channels, not counting PBS because it had nothing good on it at that time, and you could watch one show in the season and another show on another channel in reruns in the summer…all without having to pay for it.
