I like it when crime dramas don’t spend the whole season on one certain crime. With Grace, each episode is a new crime to be solved.

I didn’t realize Walt Disney made this WWII movie. I think I shall be watching it this weekend. He also did some propaganda pieces during WWII.

The story of the Lipizzan Stallions during the war. This is one of my favourite films. I was lucky enough to see the Lipizzan Stallions back in the ‘70s … what a show.

Jurassic World: Rebirth (2025)
Harthal 7 points 5 months ago.

Because in the last movie they wiped the slate clean and had a fresh start to do any kind of dinosaur movie they wanted. But then they just completely threw that away and did this. All the Dinosaurs that were loosed upon the rest of the world are now dead/dying, nobody cares about them anymore. Is the movie about saving the Dinosaurs? Nope, it’s about uhhh…. how pharmaceutical corporations are greedy and markup lifesaving drugs by 3000%.

hackenprof 1 points 5 months ago.

Dear bazillion dollars, huge shocker how dinosaurs and stupid humans are the antagonists in the new sparkly Jurassic franchise, contrary to all its previously deep and soulful social commentary. I expected so much more. Sincerely, Lake Placid

Sherri Papini: Caught in the Lie (2025) S1 E2
yellow_rose1 2 points 5 months ago. (Contains Spoilers)

This woman Sherri, is the worst case on the borderline personality disorder spectrum I think I’ve ever witnessed. She just can’t be honest. Even when it doesn’t matter anymore she’s still unwilling to tell the truth. I really hope the next time she gets bored in a relationship she doesn’t end up killing the person to hide her secrets, that is usually what the next step is

a more serious film for Ron Howard, with hans zimmer again, slow simmer of disquietude and malevolence, blue lagoon meets lord of the flies ish.. could have had more substance

The ending completely ruined it. Supervillian sociopaths, take note: When the heroes or authorities have you defeated, get them on camera and say “best heroes ever!” and they will quit hounding you, and make you their boss.. Loki should have tried that first, who knew. The only one that seemed like a semblance of a real human being, was Bob.

For some reason, it just seems like Avengers Endgame has spoiled you all into thinking every action movie made now is just bad if it doesn’t top that 10 year build up to what that was. Every action movie isn’t as bad as you all make it seem.

I think all of the Jurassic World films so far have an end point where the next one could go in any sort of creative direction they want, and the next movie is always underwhelming. I appreciate your optimism, but imo at this point you definitely should expect these movies to be a disappointing mess.

Jurassic World: Rebirth (2025)
Harthal 4 points 5 months ago*. (Contains Spoilers)

Might be the worst JP out of them all, which is saying a lot. This one was a complete waste of time, as others are saying. I’m not even sure where to start. I kept thinking that I could write a better script than this. ScarJo not believable as a SpecOps mercenary or whatever. The family felt shoehorned in simply because it’s JP so there has to be kids. The baby stegosaurus (?) served 0 purpose, was basically an accessory. The plot and motivations didn’t make sense, it’s not clear what made ScarJo have a change of heart about the money. The “villain” was a super generic greedy guy. Also the film starts with the premise that nobody cares about Dinosaurs anymore…. HUH??? That’s like saying nobody cares about animals anymore, time to close all the zoos. I get excited to see a dog or cat. You can’t expect me to believe people got over Dinosaurs coming back from extinction. The big-bad Dino (D-Rex iirc) was very under-utilized. It was basically “what if a T-Rex had long arms”, idk why but I thought it was going to be intelligent but it was just a regular T-Rex (with long arms). The arms didn’t seem to matter. Last thing, it didn’t feel like there were any stakes. I did not believe for one second that any of the “main characters” were going to die.
I liked the T-Rex river scene (but knew nobody was going to die), and I liked the very end where the Captain ends up surviving, that was a good payoff.

WeeKnighT 6 points 5 months ago.

Incredible that the director, writers and stars all have highly rated movies but the collaboration didn’t work. Your lines “it didn’t feel like there were any stakes. I did not believe for one second that any of the “main characters” were going to die.” have done it for me. Thank you for the intelligent review, if I ever do watch it, I won’t get my hopes high. :)

6/10 We were gifted a $50 AMC gift card and saw the opening day matinee in RealD. It was entertaining and exactly what I expected from the franchise; nothing more, nothing less. The 3D big screen definitely gave a better experience than the current TS on here, not even close, so ymmv.

sad, it appears paramount has already set an end date on the show at 5 seasons. to bad paramount and the writers didnt want to set up the story to last more then 5 seasons. but at least that is still 2 2/3 worth of story left, the 5th season is already set to only have 6 episodes. i hope they dont make season 4 have reduced episodes.

Harthal 5 points 5 months ago.

I mean, 5 seasons makes sense since it will bump up directly with The Original Series. I heard that they are actually considering remaking TOS after SNW is done if there is enough interest. Personally, I’m down. TOS will always be a classic but a remake done right would be amazing

This aren’t for most of you but for the concerned.. This is so nice to see. They struggle but overcome it all with so much love. I can’t avoid thinking that monogamy is a failed, neurotic state of inability to communicate honestly and that it is based on fear of being to little and as such a very, very lonely situation. And often because of it very violent and chaotic.

Very good film. Very happy and hopeful in some parts, but quite heartbreaking. I’m glad it went the direction it did, and not any darker than it is, which is not actually that dark. To me it’s just a film about a father’s love, and family.

Meh, a lot of screaming and flaying about. One can see some cross contamination with “Alien” in the main monster thou. Maybe this indicate that the Alien in “The Alien” was not an Alien but rather an early Earthling?? Interesting is also that it can do dramatic shifts in size after need. NOT a Spielberg movie for sure.

There will be a season 3 and this time around, the planned third season will be set in a young offender’s institution. Not sure I will watch the 3rd season, not really into watching anything with teens as the main characters. I have seen still photos from the 3rd season and some of the characters look to be in their 20’s. Maybe I’ll watch the 1st episode. No release date yet.
