“….however the very first scene let me know that A LOT of artistic liberties would be taken.

Exactly what first scene are you talking about that showed you signs of artistic liberties?!? The scene that truthfully signified her love of counting everything (which Johnson stated multiple times in interviews) or the scene that truthfully signifies Johnson entered high school at 10 years old and graduated college at 18… an age most people start college? Or maybe it’s just the fact that you couldn’t possibly fathom the mental capability of someone like her who… well… let’s just leave it at that.

I completely agree with “profit over health,” but I’m respectfully noting that heroin has not been sold OTC for about 100 years — not since its addictive properties became known.

Fwiw, govt seems to draw a line between highly addictive, black market drugs (not allowed for legal sale) and anything else that could hurt us, such as food additives and pesticides (absolutely allowed for public sale — screw the public).

Then Alcohol is in this weird ‘other’ category. Completely poisonous, zero medicinal value, YET, generally socially accepted (especially in the West), sold legally- no prescription required. on every corner and served in many places where we eat, including where children eat.

This show was great. So nice to see something made specifically for adults in this genre. There’s so many, “made for everyone” and adults, these days. Once I started it was hard to stop watching. Season 1 8/10 Can’t wait for season 2. My only complaints are…

I hated the ending. Just the last 5-10 mins of the last episode. What the hell was that between Freya and Thor. Did Freya kill Thor? Did Thor give up his godly powers to die? I get cliffhangers but that was just annoying and an unsatisfying end to the season.
Also, that one chick dies, she can’t go to Valhalla because she used a cursed weapon. Then 5 seconds later Sigrid is killed(Who used a cursed weapon and was cursed with the blood from hell too maybe?) and she goes to Valhalla? I didn’t get that at all

What brand of cigarettes are preferred by 9 out of 10 doctors ?
Doc Collins would usually have a smoke dangling out of the corner of his mug when the brothers and I had our school physical exams…the high school I attended had a designated smoking area…we were smoking on the bus, smoking on airplanes and when I hit my first semester at college in January of 76, smoking was permitted in the lecture halls…grab an ashtray off the lectern and have a seat…

Interesting film concept; however the very first scene let me know that A LOT of artistic liberties would be taken. Several spots where I had to 10 second hop forward through (it’s amazing how many movies I manage to finish instead of x’ing out of simply because of that capability) Because of the first scene I did a little reading on the film after the fact and was not at all surprised that…well let’s just say it wasnt surprising. It felt like a highly idealized tale, and it was. A feel good story with the “feel good” moments being moments that just didnt happen in the real story.

I think I made it through 2 episodes and called it quits. Looks like ABC is calling it quits too. Unless it finds another home, there will be no season 2 and actor’s contracts not renewed. Sad, not sad at this point. Don Johnson is still nice to look at, but the storyline was very, very weak.

I remember my Mom and other patients smoking cigarettes in the waiting area of our Doctors office. I was probably no older than 4. Craven A was my first brand of cigarettes when I started at the age of 10 years old. We would get them from vending machines that would cost you double what a store would charge. If we brought a note to the store from a teenager written in cursive, saying that it was my Mom sending us to buy them for her, they would look at us with, a Yeah right and sell them to us anyway. At the age of 10!!! Those were the days. I still can quit smoking. I’ve tried so many ways and different methods. So if they are so dangerous then why is the government allowing the sale of them? Profit over consumer health will always be a priority, no different then when they sold heroin at the pharmacy

Star Trek: Section 31 (2025)
mossryder 4 points 10 months ago.

I went into this as a fan of all Trek (except the cartoons).
This was just… a mess. Def some cool ideas, but it’s so.. disjointed. It doesn’t feel like old, tng, or modern Trek. It doesn’t feel like anything. Like 50 film students given the lose guidance of “Film something like Star Trek”. Then nobody actually edited the footage or double-checked… anything. Like a set where the director never showed up and no script was provided.
2/10 would reccommend to Hitler.

I remember in the 70’s going to the store with a note from my mom to buy her a carton of cigarettes every week! She would smoke 4 packs a day. I hated the smell and would breath in all her second smoke, especially in the car with the windows closed. I have never smoked in my life, but was inhaling 4 packs a day!

I remember being 9 or 10 and my sister was 7 or 8, we had a laundry mat that we would go to with my mom. They had a vending machine that had hot cocoa, coffee, and soup (which was chicken broth), we loved that broth lol. So once or twice a week mom would let us walk the 2 miles to the laundry mat to get the broth, but she also sent a note so we could get her cigarette’s from a vending machine also. if someone asked our note was ok, but usually nobody asked. I also remember people smoking in the grocery store. There were ashtrays at the end of each isle.

Next season on Gangs of London: No one dies…the few leads you saw shot will miraculously come back to life (for a second time, in Shaun’s case)…and you find out everyone is related to everyone else.
This is basically the most violent daytime soap opera ever, in terms of character writing. I half expect someone’s evil(er) twin to enter the mix. If it wasn’t for the beautiful camera work and great acting, I wouldn’t be coming back for more abuse. Rest assured, I’ll be back for future seasons.

The visuals are fantastic, the sets the costumes, and the pacing isn’t too slow. I enjoy the show, if there is anything to pick on, the audio and the score need bettter direction, and the actors are just too well-groomed for all the hair they have, you can imagine them into Gucci suits the second the director says “CUT”.
I only watch this show to understand the paradox of Judas.
It came to a head in this episode. It seems the director couldn’t handle the paradox either. but did his best.
“He is the messiah ….. but I know better…”
I don’t believe that anyone who has suffered what they suffer would be motivated by money or material in any way, not for this long, not for the tiny amounts of money or goods they get gifted. Anyone this conflicted would make themselves obvious. Still, I do appreciate the attempt, but no solutions here, the paradox continues.
