Thumbs up, but giving voice to that frustration in comments only adds to one’s frustration. Best way to get back on track is to hit all 5 report link titles in red up there in line with the regular links.

That way, those files will be taken down so as not to frustrate anyone else. The content moderator is too busy to check comments for that info, that’s why there’s a reporting protocol.

The UnBelievable with Dan Aykroyd (2023) S2 E20
random000 2 points 6 months ago.

Overall this season was very consistent & thankfully not too gross. It hearkens back to older shows such as In Search Of with Leonard Nimoy, 3 different Arthur C Clarke shows World of Strange Powers, Mysterious World & Mysterious Universe.

Those are the ones with much the same tone as this & Shatner’s show. In the early 80s there was also Real People, That’s Incredible & Ripley’s Believe It Or Not with Jack Palance. There were a few reboots of that one, but they were not as good & mostly gross.

Dan’s show sometimes has classic trivia from anyone of those shows, but nicely has original presentations that weren’t previously televised somewhere else.

His camera people need to knock off the weirdo unflattering camera angles when he introduces bits. That nonsense isn’t necessary. Their job is to make him look good, not to make art film snippets of a dude past his prime. Stick to standard journalistic looking straight at the camera shots, or go home.

What has happened to intelligent television and film these days? I can’t believe how silly and unintelligent entertainment is getting. Its not comedy, its not satire, its not even parody …. it just brain dumbing foolishness. The actors are forgettable, the action sequences are reminiscent of Charlie Chaplin, the story is superficial, and the dialogue is elementary grade. Bah! Rubbish.

Besides Freddie Prinze Jr & Claire Forlani from Meet Joe Black, this has Alyson Hannigan, Amanda Detmer & TsianinaJoelson, who I always felt would be a great Wonder Woman since she did some Xena stuff & is proven to be capable of that kind of role.

Aladdin and the Death Lamp (2012)

After nbc hijacked Sci-Fi & turned it into syfy, it’s just been trashy. However Kandyse McClure from BSG is in this.

She’s not really done anything that we like since BSG, but she has a somewhat bigger part in this bad kindergarten level cg disaster of the week. And it’s better than shark-whatever.

syrian doctor and syrian police man…..a miracle, here in Germany 80% are jobless and most analphabetics

izcold 9 points 6 months ago.

Germany has a strict system for recognizing foreign degrees especially from non-EU countries so many were stuck doing low skill work or unemployed. If they were even aloud to work. Many people waited 2 years just to be authorized to work or even attend official integration courses. It’s not like Germany was ready for the million plus refugees anyways. They lacked enough language programs, housing, or vocational support. A very difficult situation to be in for both sides. Despite all this, it appears 73% of Syrian men are employed 7 years after immigrating to Germany. I learned all of this in 10 minutes on my phone halfway around the world.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993) S2 E16
Twixtid 7 points 6 months ago*.

A powerful and moving episode for Odo. The more we see this character explore and interact with the world around him the more we learn just how complex his personality really is. Every episode with this character peels back a new layer of who he is, and what he stands for, and I for one can’t wait to see more, by far my favourite character on the show. The girls comment “Your face isn’t so scary once you get used to it, is surprisingly on par with my first impressions of Odo first coming in, not that he was scary, but that he was unapproachable, unfriendly, and stiff, which we are slowly finding out is not the case.

Can be a little slow at times. But overall it’s worth the watch. Decent acting with a compelling storyline that kept me interested. The Brits are usually pretty good with their cop/drama TV shows. I give this one 3.75 out of 5 stars.

I will always make this comment when it comes to the band Rush, that is blows me away that 3 men can make this music. They are the bomb. What a pivotal move getting rid of the original drummer and hiring Neil Peart. RIP Also what is it with Canadian drummers and brain cancer? The tragically Hips drummer died of the same disease

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993) S2 E1
nakedman 8 points 6 months ago*.

This Star Trek for me is the best, i was septic at first but quark and Garak acting is top tier.
It takes a while to get into it but soon you should be dragged into the story.
Also o’brien from next and another character soon do elevate the show.
I rewatch next generation and deep space 9 every 2 years ish without a miss.
The only part of this show that annoy me is major kira back story, the religion side mostly.
I say its worth to finish it but also if you’re suffering just to get through it then might not be your cup of tea.
( also if you look at the documentary on this show the ferengi actually met at night to practice there acting to push the characters the further they could, you shall see them get better and better over the course of the show and the story really deepen also.)

IMHO, there’s nothing wrong with writing a book about the problems with POTUS J. Biden, yet the same people better show up to write one about the destruction that #преступник45 has done to that office & the way the world looks at/treats America now… still about 1, 330 days to go with this abomination of an administration might come to an end…

Tried watching the first episode since it sounded intriquing but the acting was not very good. I only got half way through & stopped. The new librarian reminded me of one of Dr. Who’s incarnations & the old librarian reminded me of Bruce Willis. Not bad comparisons but I don’t want to be reminded continually of better actors imo.

Total flop, kinda pointless, disjointed, but fun since it has some SCTV alum such as Dave Thomas, Andrea Martin & John Candy, joining Sally Kellerman. Also has Alex Rocco, Sid Haig & Bryce Howard’s grandpa Rance Howard. That this assemblage gathered to make this flop is something else.

Eva Amurri is Susan Sarandon’s daughter & Tim Robbins step-daughter. She hasn’t acted much in about a decade & is better known as a writer, but when she was younger she did this flick with her mom as her mom, Willa Holland as her little sis & Anton Yelchin as her friend.

It’s very good, centering around them both as they work at a water park & hustle on the side. She & Anton are co-leads & it’s her strongest role. Before this she was in The Banger Sisters with her mom & Goldie Hawn, then also Saved, Animals, Earthly Possessions, Life Before Her Eyes, New York I Love You, Stag & Californiacation (juicy part in that one). She was also in The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe where she plays Norma Jean’s crazy mom.

random000 4 points 6 months ago.

Very nice Anton Yelchin - Eva Amurri movie. More drama than comedy. Anyone who was given up by their parents might understand an aspect of Anton’s character.

Fecking adore Sally Hawkins!!! She is unique and refuses, steadfastly to be a part of making women be “eternally pretty”. I cannot wait for this. Check her out in The Shape of Water https://www.primewire.tf/movie/1021521-the-shape-of-water and Maudie https://www.primewire.tf/movie/1114770-maudie. SH has an absolutely amazing range that infiltrates all the socially forced norms that women don’t need or want.
