second episode in and I love it, it is very intriguing, you have to hang on to every word in case you miss something, brilliant acting and storyline.

The world is missing a good sitcom so giving this one a chance, but it sounds a lot like a literal Friends remake….

In this show everyone is not white and they don’t have impossible to afford gigantic NYC apartments. 1 minute into the first episode and you’ll see this is nothing like FRIENDS.

oh ya no doubt its meant to destigmatise, everyone is how they are, and its trying to regulate with knowledge of ourselves in relation to how stuff was set up by those that might not have the same way of being that you do, for sure. my gripe with spectrums (spectra?) is that they seem two dimensional to me.

BubbaPharm.com 2 points 6 months ago.

Yeah, it’s just a set of markers. However, I do constantly look out for ‘zero empathy’ markers. I once saw a dog run over and the guy next to me made a joke. Wouldn’t go camping with him.

That’s our main reason for analyzing people anyway: Safe/Dangerous

Stay safe!

Its a good story and a decent movie for kids but thank god they decided to stop making live action adaptations. it was fun and weird to watch..

That’s why they call it a spectrum. There all different levels.

Neurodivergent is a term to destigmatize. Just means you’re different, and many of us are. I’ve personally known diagnosed sociopaths, autistics and a few real narcissists. Once you’re familiar, you start seeing the patterns. But it’s just a description, not a destination. That label doesn’t mean a person doesn’t have a personality. By the way, many sociopaths are very charismatic, but they will step over your dead body to get a sandwich. And some autistics can me sensitive, especially to animals.

yeah i get you, i guess with was having the scan and waiting for the fmri results for all the things, how accurate that is for diagnosis i have no idea. i am not so knowledgeable of the neuroscience of autism, but i did like when the term neurodivergent came out many moons ago, and you could compare brain imagery and see how alike or different brain activity can be, and i guess there would have been a majority cluster of brains that functioned similarly to be called neurotypical. i feel it is limiting though, and the term neurodivergent has changed as it became more popular. and to me its not a spectrum either, for example, some people (usually left handed people) have their left brain as their right brain, it not something you can put on the one spectrum.

Officially, he’s stated clearly that he does not have autism. However, his TV character sure has the elements and some autistic people have agreed. So it’s kind of a running joke he’s playing with those suspicious fans.

I suspected myself, until I examined some of his childhood home movies, where he does not speak in a monotone, dead pan way. The magician teenage footage shows him bubbly and interacting with the kids.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993) S2 E1
Twixtid 9 points 6 months ago.

Just finished season 1, wasn’t sure how I was gonna like this. I have pretty much avoided Star Trek thus far, but my recent space opera binge has left me in a position where this is quite literally all there is left for me to watch in this genre, I guarantee you couldn’t find one I haven’t seen, the space opera binge I have been on is in it’s second month, so out of ALL the ST candidates, I had heard this was more similar to that of Babylon 5, and darker in tone than it’s cousins. Season 1 was surprisingly good, for the most part it’s been a “conflict of the week” format with very short story arcs lasting maybe 2 episodes at best. Hoping to learn more about Odo’s background.

random000 10 points 6 months ago*.

There was a bitter division with the DS9 - bab5 folks, claims that bab5 was just a trek rip, etc. However if you dig Odo, his story arc is very important all the way to the bitter end of the series, and figures in very prominently, whereas some other characters might not have as consequential development.

Thanks for that tip. It helps separate the wheat from the chaff. IMDB isn’t a good indicator whether one will like a Troma film. I’ll start using the Kaufman Rule. :-)

Season 10 will start in a couple of weeks and just in the nick of time. Many of us are scrapping the bottom of the barrel to find things to watch that we like. June 15th and all episodes will drop on the 15th. So we can binge watch or watch one episode a week so that we’ll have something to watch while waiting on other British shows to start their new seasons.

I had a similar reaction to Big Top. It was so great that his last Pee Wee movie delivered. The public took him back into their hearts, which is the definition of redemption.

BTW: I really liked his character in “Blow”. That was the first time I saw him as an actor. FYI, It’s not a comedy . . .

yellow_rose1 5 points 6 months ago.

yes I agree. In fact his character in Blow was so outstanding I didn’t even realize it was Paul. I knew he looked familiar. It was a long time until I discovered who his character was. He really was a talented man. The press really tried to sling shit at his good character and name. I’m glad it didn’t stick. lol. Have a good day :)

Features Professor Irwin Corey, whom Lenny Bruce called the best comedian ever- and was also a fav of Dick Gregory. Corey himself died only a few years ago at 102. We have a Troma night in our community & just re-watched this when we noticed that stuntwoman Pat Tallman has a bit part in this as Guinevere! Most people might know her best as having the lead role in the 1990 remake of Night Of The Living Dead. If you like Kaufman & Troma, he regarded this as one of his bests films.

Then you have a lot of Binge Watching to accomplish(3 movies released in 2004, 2006, 2008: TV series from 2014-2018). I am sharing the direct PW links here because it is difficult to stumble upon these through the search. A blanket search turns up only the TV series and not the movies. The movies are only found if you remove ‘The Librarian’ from the SEO search box and only list the rest of the title. There is also a link that includes a list of all 3 movies under the search of ‘The Librarian’ but no links to each movie are featured. Perhaps that needs cleaned up/removed?

Also be aware that it is not important that you watch the 3-movies before the 2014-tv show. Though, per it’s ‘educational history dialogue’, it may be beneficial to watch the first 3 movies before watching the OG TV series of 2014-2018. As the 2014 tv series does pay homage to the OG films, throughout it’s 4 season run in a few episodes.

I wonder how old the links are. I spotted one movie with only 1 link so I am wondering if each movie deserves to have additional fresh uploads…hint hint beloved uploaders.
