Peta Wilson was iconic in her role as Nikita. Remember my brother watching this and showing it to me when I was probably way too young and then wishing I could grow up to be just as badass and cool as her haha

The remake 20 years later was fine but nothing beats the original series (I know it was originally a movie).

Oh sugar! I love this movie. And I’m a huge, Frank Zappa fan. He was as sardonic as they get; NOT ironic, not satirical, SARDONIC. Moon Unit and Dweezil Zappa, were in my middle school, then progressed to an different High School (I went to Taft). She was not at all the very first Val. I actually hated that expression. I didn’t talk like that, and neither did most of my friends. Okay, fine, fer sure fer sure. Right. YR is wrong. No one in my circle said “gag me with a spoon”. It was, why don’t you knock yourself out and hit reset. I love this movie. I’m pretty certain you also know Nic (not nikki) changed his surname to Cage due to his love for that Marvel hero, and wanting to establish is own identity.

Thanks Pringo, as you can probably tell I didn’t play the game…and I think at some level I was aware that season 3 had been confirmed. Was just a very raw take on my feelings directly after watching the finale (I hadn’t even realized it was the finale :( ).

There is nothing quite as pathetic as some sad sack living vicariously though someone else’s family or relationship while parking permanently in the friend-zone. Make whatever changes you need to make and get a life of your own.

We only saw Night Flight at grandma’s house. We had just antenna at home, so we could watch Pop Clips at least since it was syndicated on uhf channel 25.

Pop Clips was a lot like Solid Gold - half an hour, with a host. Not Scooby Doo voice actor dj Armenian Kasey Kasem, but some other dude. It also wasn’t concerned with “hits”. Just good stuff.

But Night Flight was a few hours at night, so it showed more than vids. First Jackie Chan, Mike Judge, Cronenberg & stuff like that we saw there. Anything by obscure filmmakers. Mostly shorts or weird docs.

Oh wow I would have loved to see that. The only time I was exposed to Tv like that was when I would visit my best friends Lisa, and Tina. They lived just on the outskirts of town and had cable tv. However, the only one I remember was the one they showed late at night and it was when I saw my first Pat Benatar video, You Better Run. Empty-V. I love that great name for it.

Yes solid Gold. Before Empty-V we use to wait for that show. There was another one that came before it called Pop Clips. That’s where I first saw Video Killed The Radio Star.

But before that show, there was Night Flight, which took over USA network after hours the way Adult Swim takes over Cartoon Network at night.

Night Flight is where we first saw most Punk & Metal stuff, like The Ramones, Dead Kennedys, Sex Pistols, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, etc… even obscure stuff like Bitch & Omen.

I was watching the vid where Moon unit is doing this “song” on Solid Gold. You must remember that show. I think it was on Sunday nights? Not totally sure. Haha I remember talking like that at school with my friends. Then they made the tv show Valley girls. My Dad hated when I would talk like them so I would spare his sensibilities and only talk like that at school

I recently looked into AI’s future with cleaning up VHS and the like, especially old audio. It looks promising, but making it so cheap that niche productions get the treatment is a way’s away.

We had very much the same life. I grew up in the country too. When we got hungry and were too busy to go home we would eat cow corn or crab apples. Yuck! The things kids will do. I would get 5 dollars for mowing our yard. It was huge though. An hour for the front and an hour to do the back. I miss the country so much

But wouldn’t it be great if they came back to the quality we expect?

It could happen.

We were total latch-key kids too. And actually had to mow lawns to buy our own stuff like clothes, magazines, comics, school supplies & snacks. Our regular food was all farm grown, so if we wanted something different, we had to paint a house or do yard work to get it.
