Well it is an end of an era. This show has been unique and have touched on something very serious.. Religious zealotry and putting up ones own beliefs as measurement for others to follow. The falsehood of it and the desperation of it in the need of self confirmation on the cost of others freedom. Religion is very very seldom the freedom it say it need for it self, but instead oppression of others to sustain it self despise it’s backwardness and ignorant lack of self distance and self knowledge and, actually, humility in front of the freedom of nature and it’s ever ongoing self inventiveness.
This show has portrayed this in an for the american situation, sadly, very directly relatable manner. Let’s thank it in our hearts and hope that it doesn’t inspire and feed form in the wrong way like very often happens with stagnant groups that thou to their rigidity don’t have access to dear Ms. Fantasy, but instead grab the closest horror depiction of them self to execute as an self justified try of a scare based power grab. Hex Hex Hacks and a lot of ass wacks!! Thanks for the Show. It is a classic.

You get that this is a desperate try to keep the deeply unpopular and “transparent” Santa alive in the culture, right. The old white male that disperse bribes to corrupt the children and getting them to accept the “order” in which they are the losers and becomes good hardworking gnomes and externally “evaluated” Working girls, all feeding on hope and betrayal alone. Santa is soo for Betas!!

4 down in the “Clerks” marathon now. So good. Watching them in order makes you realize just how talented of a director and writer Keven Smith is. Funny plots with original characters that keep you watching.

Did you watch Clerks the Animated Show? Sadly all the links are gone.

People are way too emotional. Seperate the man from the art. The art is suffering because people want to ruin the life of someone who has done wrong. Im sick of all the puritanical BS like everyone isn’t flawed or have skeletons in their closet.

Euringer 2 points 6 months ago.

imo seperating the art from the artist is a completely fair statement for why it’s okay to enjoy the Justin Roiland Rick and Morty years, but not a good argument for why he should still be around to produce more art. Add in the fact that Rick and Morty’s initial pilot was based entirely around a paedo joke and it makes sense that people feel weird about the situation. The person calling someone else a paedo for having an opinion about the quality of the show with and without Roiland is out of pocket, though.

Betrayal (2023)
BubbaPharm.com 1 points 6 months ago.

For a 20k budget, it’s not bad. It also not great, but it’s a decent lesson on audio, lighting, letterbox, and choice rent-free settings . I can’t imagine the actors got paid either, because 20k just covers gas, cameras and lunch.

The main theme hits on domestic abuse and how it affects a family with a realistic thriller/horror elements. 3/5 Not a must watch unless you’re a budding film auteur with no money.

such a bad TV show. ugh! I really need to stop giving Julie Delpy a chance. The woman tries too hard to be quirky, Woody Allen, and indie and I’m amazed she was even given a whopping 12 episodes for what THANK GOD is a miniseries. I would avoid this, the amount of times I slept through stuff, paused, did other things and came back was incredible and really all of the characters except the Elizabeth Shoue character are insufferable morons, the only characters that you can handle are the Elizabeth Shohoue character and even Julie’s character, but all of the men are losers except for the guy married to Yasmine who is one of the most annoying characters and sad the one person of color and is written to get under your skin. anywho skip this, go watch Friends in Colleges which deserves a proper ending and the Four Seasons with Steve Carell and Tina Fey.

oh yes I remember the essay now that you mentioned the name. It is definitely a cautionary tale as well that when it comes to a David and Goliath battle, David rarely wins, in reality that is. You are right about Britney without social media etc. She likely would still be where she is or like you said lobotomized if it were many decades from now. Have yourself a good night. It’s always a pleasure critiquing with you

It’s a great movie, but a hard watch.

I’d even go as far to say , “If your sensitive to seeing women abused, you may need to avoid this.” I saw it when it came out, and I can still vividly remember the orderlies.

That said, it’s still a worthwhile watch. Some could even make analogies to Britney Spear’s troubles. Seventy years ago, she probably would have been lobotomized.

FYI: I learned about Frances Farmer in a weird way, when Paul Harvey (radio) told me about her winning Scholastic magazine essay: “God Dies: An Essay by Frances Farmer” (1931). She was only 18, and already had an unique intellect. The essay is still widely available on line, and I find it’s insight brilliant. Newspaper Headlines: “Seattle Girl Denies God and Wins Prize.”

Great movie. What Hollywood did to this woman was nothing short of criminal. They violated her in every sense of the world. Kurt Cobain even mentions her in a couple of his interviews that what they put Frances through struck a nerve with him. It is perhaps why his daughter is named Frances. I urge anyone to check this movie out. As usual Jessica does her story justice. After learning what they did to Frances Farmer, it isn’t a giant leap to suggest that Hollywood may have had a hand in Marilyn Munroe’s death. After all Frances went on to speak of the horror she was put though. Perhaps with Marilyn they didn’t want to take that chance again

I think that comment might be for Phil Hartman. It was very disappointing to see him defend the witch hunt with Howard Stern. Had Phil and Paul lived longer, I would have hoped for reconciliation.

Don Knotts was truly one of greatest TV neighbors a kid could have.

I hadn’t seen this since it was the afternoon movie in the 1970’s, and it reminded me how comforting his goofy goodness was. I still put on the “The Reluctant Astronaut” every couple years. It takes me back to when Hollywood worked hard to protect us from reality.

The last major role I saw him in was “Pleasantville”. It was pure genius making him the television repair man. He is the embodiment of Pleasantville, where the neighbors all get along and all the kids are above average.

RIP Don!

Rick and Morty (2013) S8 E1
random000 4 points 6 months ago*.

That was a reaction to the personal attack toward DK. DK doesn’t have to justify why he likes or dislikes anything, but he certainly isn’t defending a crime or a criminal. It’s the show he was commenting on, not a crime or criminal, and he was attacked for that then equated with being also a criminal for his comment, and then attacked for being an adult that likes cartoons because that’s what trolls do who have no regard for anyone but themselves.

He’s a father. A good one. He likes cartoons. He doesn’t like criminals. There was no reason to personally attack him & equate him with criminality at all.

The characters that they will be playing are unknown at this time. Who is going to play who is still unknown. Plot details have been kept under wraps, as has the identity of the movie’s screenwriter. Momoa may be playing the green-skinned Blanka.

To me it looks it. Go back to some of his older shows and you will see them chin to cheek line on both side of his face. Also, this show is via an On Demand service which is a member paid service. There’s no justification for said service to offer programs with commercial breaks. This isn’t antenna tv, so the business model isn’t the same since member fees underwrite what they pay for. Thank goodness the stream-rippers didn’t get the commercials.

The Librarians: The Next Chapter (2025)

Watched the first 2 episodes and I am thrilled to see the Library once again. And a new group of librarians. Love the ancient librarian meets modern librarian plot and how it has introduced us to a fantastic new crew of investigators, guardians, Librarians. I can only hope there will be a few, if not all, cameo’s by the following: Rebecca Romijn, Christian Kane, Lindy Booth, John Kim, John Larroquette, Matt Frewer. And perhaps supporting cameo’s from the case of Warehouse 13 considering it is a shared universe with Eureka and Alphas. These cameo’s could come in a form of actual or flashback connections to current adventures. And just how many Immortal guardians of the Library are there? I do hope they give a homage to the first ever Librarian, Judson, portrayed by Bob Newhart. Any filmed referenced for Judson will definitely be in flashback form considering Bob Newhard passed away in 2024. I really hope Rebecca Romijn returns for a few episode arc considering she became an eternal librarian after her being a guardian.

AND YAY, SEASON 2!
