Fringe (2008) S4 E11

This is what the equation is that they found pinned to the wall in his house. This appears to be a set of equations from time-dependent perturbation theory in quantum mechanics. The notes describe how the wavefunction \psi(t)\ evolves over time when subjected to a perturbing Hamiltonian \V(t). The key idea here is that the wavefunction is expressed as a sum over energy eigenstates \\phi_k\, with time-dependent coefficients \c_k(t). The exponential factor \e^{-iE_k t / \hbar}\ represents the time evolution of each eigenstate under the unperturbed Hamiltonian \H_0.

The equation \sum (H_0 + V(t)) c_k(t) e^{-iE_k t/\hbar} \phi_k = i\hbar \sum \frac{\partial c_k(t)}{\partial t} e^{-iE_k t/\hbar} \phi_k \ suggests a way to derive the equation of motion for the coefficients \c_k(t)\, which govern how the perturbation causes transitions between states.

When Hallmark did classics & wasn’t too bad. Nice take on a sweet story which can be freely shared.

There is no way in Hell that jackass would not set off the device once he had the judge in hand. He didn’t give two shits about anyone but his own feelings. He may as well been a member of Antifa.

If one has a voyeuristic inclination toward the secrets of the one percent, then this favorite film totally goes there. Patsy Kensit & Kristen Scott Thomas are too good not to be properly file-shared & freely downloadable without any run-around.

Despite the harrowing, progressively unfolding melodramatic aspect, it is such an audio-visual feast on the human psyche I must say. If I had not just watched it, I would never have imagined that (although I definitely adore the genre) French impressionist music (Debussy, Ravel, Satie, etc.) could be so befitting for such a movie. Music when coupled with sound editing reminded me of Microcosmos (1996) at many points (damn that snail porn accompanied by that beautiful soprano and the orchestra). This movie “tells” us that despite our ever-growing neocortex, many aspects of the human genome are indeed beyond language and are quite interchangeable with those of different human cultures in different timelines. This girl, Sewwandi, deserves recognition and an award for this.

My Mom wouldn’t let us buy that kind of cereal. We had Kool Aid once in a while and we were allow chips on the weekends, sometimes. I was a very active preteen and teenager. However, I also had many young adults in my neighborhood willing to share there smokes and alcohol. I had no supervision growing up.

random000 5 points 7 months ago.

We were total latch-key kids too. And actually had to mow lawns to buy our own stuff like clothes, magazines, comics, school supplies & snacks. Our regular food was all farm grown, so if we wanted something different, we had to paint a house or do yard work to get it.

Troo. George never had a lot of money thrown at his projects, but it was more about his personality than anything. Even his movie with John Candy, Hostage For A Day was fairly low rent.

His series before Cheers was good, but is also obscure by anyone’s measure.

Star Trek: Section 31 (2025) S1 Special
kunipferd 1 points 7 months ago*.

yes. they could have made more of it. At first its supposed to be a full show and now that movie seems to be all whats left of the idea. I think its interesting to bring different genres into the Star Trek Universe but obviously they are still learning. I was positively surprised by lower decks - which is a comedy cartoon (!) - and prodigy (which obviously is also a try to get younger audience into the franchise). At first i thought its ridiculous, then i just wanted to know what happens to the little guy and watched every episode.

The Orville is better Star Trek than this lol

Love, Death & Robots (2019)
kyocera301 7 points 7 months ago.

Well Season 4 was a bit of a wash out for me. It seems the originality of the first season has been totally discarded for hackneyed ideas. One can see more uniqueness of first time animators on YT. Most of these episodes seemed like the first act with no real conclusion. Plus they seemed to have lost the whole ‘science Fiction’ aspect and think just animation is enough. 2/5 for Season 4

absolutley DREADFUL film - and the sex was so tame, this would barely get an R rating! Given the lack of sex and no swearing, it’s no different than a PG-13 Teenage Frathouse movie.

Intimate Affairs (2002)
random000 4 points 7 months ago*.

The adult warning on this preventing the flick from being listed on the front page is unnecessary heavy handed prejudice. It’s a Dermot Mulroney, Neve Campbell, Julie Delpy, Robin Tunney film & they don’t make skinimax flicks. It’s just an ordinary fun movie. For mom & dad. Not the kids. Shameless & Spartacus have more sex & skin than this movie does.

I know right? It was completely random, I skipped it all together, an otherwise great show.

Rodreko 2 points 7 months ago.

This was such a great show with great writing. I sort of missed it on the first run. Busy watching something else. This was back when you had to choose between shows and now you can watch anything literally any time. Lots of actors and actresses that I recognize from other things started as guests on this show. Joe Flanigan who played Lt. Colonel John Sheppard on Stargate Atlantis and Chadwick Boseman from the Black Panther.

No Small Affair (1984)
