Doctor Who (2023) S2 E8
bobjoneschar -1 points 6 months ago.

Doctor Who has been dead for years. It just needs to be cancelled at this point. Some good news though, that new Librarians show is very reminiscent of classic Doctor Who. I never saw the movies or the other tnt show, but the new series will scratch the itch left by Dr. Boo-Who and his cavalcade of bad writing and identity politics.

People have been saying that Doctor Who has been dead for years if not decades. Guess what it keeps going. So who’s projecting now. All I see is somebody boo hooing. Please don’t watch if you don’t like the show. The rest of us can get along quite happily without you so can the show. Toodles!

A very basic point of fact in what you said is ‘immigrants wandering 12 [safe] countries to arrive in Germany’. Can you point towards a single immigrant who did that? Even unsafe countries?

As opposed to these days where the comments section gets disabled and users get muted… ok, ok, free speech is not the same thing.

I tried to watch this with my daughter and she kind of gave up on it, foolish me. I sat here and watched it by myself, a fan of the Lion King. This was a very good story. I would recommend this story to the young ones who want to see it, very well done. For me, it was a good story. 5/5

Exactly! I’ll be the first to say I was a stickler of his work a few years back and wouldn’t watch a few movies of his cause they just seemed to ridiculous or campy which seems weird for me to say, but none the less sat down with a few friends and just chuckled it up to the Zohan and a few others that I would of once ignored.

I think the guy just wants to, for the most part, make stuff that plays well over summer weekends & holidays on tv without much censoring, etc. He’s coming from a sort of point of view not unlike Tim Burton in that regard as far as accessibility. With that said, yeah, we didn’t care for Jack & Jill for example, haha.

Sandler keeps a magic alive in movie making that otherwise is dead. He does good family & date films. He knows he’s not making MidSummer Night’s Dream or 2001 Space Odyssey. He does what he does very well & he makes plenty of people happy doing it.

I read a whole article about this, and I have no interest in wasting my time on it. After the still-ongoing drama with Elon, I’m really burned out on tech bros. IRL Zuckerberg is playing with people’s information by making them give him mug shots to recover their accounts. No thank you. Google is taking over everything so that if you don’t have a Google account, you can’t sign into a lot of sites (FB included). Why on earth would I want to watch a fictionalized version of this crap when I live it every day?

The Blacklist (2013) S3 E18
jamouyi 0 points 6 months ago.

the more and more you watch this the more stupid liz gets. she has been on the run with riddington for 3 months and should know the inner workings of the criminal world a whole lot better than she did before she ran and after she got her life back she went back to being the stupidest piece of sht known to man. i liked liz more when she was on the run then when she wasnt, she barely said anything when people were being killed or when she was killing people yet as soon as she gets her life back she just turns into something annoying. in this episode tom said something stupid like where should we go now when there is a task force they can go to to stay safe, also liz being stupid refusing ray’s help constantly just makes here even less likeable when she knows what he can provide. tom just stops at traffic knowing they are being chased and looks like a deer in head lights with his head turned off. this show is called the blacklist, they should rename it too Many Ways Liz Can Piss You Off/do stupid sht.

Now that is a edge of your seat suspense movie at it’s peak. 90 mins over in a blink of an eye. This is my second watch of this movie and it was just great as the first. Tom Hanks is such a good actor and keeps you on your toes for the length of the movie. Such an excellent movie. 8.5/10

This is the best movie of 2025 and I thought I would hate it, didn’t want to see it, saw it during Mothers Day and fell in love with the Remmick, he’s so cute, the film was fun but wasn’t long enough. It had the same fun energy of 1985’s Fright Night. I highly recommend anyone see this film, you will have a fun time watching it.

Mikeonalpha 1 points 6 months ago. (Contains Spoilers)

yes bad writing - I don’t mind the “identity politics” though - the show changes with the times, and I quite like that - think of the Introduction of Sarah Jane back in the 70’s.. a woman having her own career and working as a Journalist, heavens!!! And the scene in Robot where she gets called out for wearing “pants” and not a dress!! My god! The scandal of it all! I think The BIGGER problem with the series is the lack of continuity and staying power. Ncuti was great and he should have stayed longer - at least another year - or two (Tom Baker was the Doctor for 7).. And also the length of the Companions stay is so short now… you blink and you miss them…. Back in the day… you had Jamie, Jo, Sarah Jane, Romana and even Tegan sticking around for years… and you really developed a bond with them… and it was a real event when they parted.. now, there is no real connection… all gone now and onto the new season (if there is one).. with everything new…

Germany has a strict system for recognizing foreign degrees especially from non-EU countries so many were stuck doing low skill work or unemployed. If they were even aloud to work. Many people waited 2 years just to be authorized to work or even attend official integration courses. It’s not like Germany was ready for the million plus refugees anyways. They lacked enough language programs, housing, or vocational support. A very difficult situation to be in for both sides. Despite all this, it appears 73% of Syrian men are employed 7 years after immigrating to Germany. I learned all of this in 10 minutes on my phone halfway around the world.

funny, but just fantasy for me, not as sharp as succession, def representative of the thiels and megalomaniacal tech bros trying to create technofeudalistic societies-but not something im really interested in. they are creating these cities (starbase, texas) and corporate militias (blackrock - haiti)… but its all enabled by governance which in some part is founded by struggle. what they call the cathedral is like a kid playing with a toy they took off someone else

He looks very good, he acts very well and he is quite funny for the role. This is not an easy role btw, he does most of his acting through his voice and eyes because after all, he is a robot.. As for the muscles part, not every depiction of a robot should be Arnold Schwarzenegger 😆
