Louis Theroux: The Settlers (2025)
footshot 2 points 7 months ago.

how may arab , muslim nations are actually helping out gaza , back palestinians , aid them, … …..? apart from Iran ?
How many blue haired palestinian flagwaving visa breaking protestors in the west are even AWARE of the islamic war crimes and invasion , occupation of papua new guinea for over 60 years. EVERYWHERE islam exists , it becomes non secular invasive and eradicative
yes i think most of these settlers are as dumb , fighting over a desert but it is jewish land with a large muslim contingent ,… most of whom bought up from childhood to Hamas / Hezzbollah standards
dunno if this comment will stick around long bu it deserves being said

betty 1 points 7 months ago.

I find it weird that people make such comments, so only white christians should help and be helped by other white Christians, only Muslims can help and be helped by other Muslims, etc etc. Whats wrong with people helping people?

Louis Theroux: The Settlers (2025)
Boraes 3 points 7 months ago.

That’s my point exactly. Maybe they should start by acknowledging the foul despicableness of the initial attack on the Festival which started it off. I’d of been more surprised if Israel hadn’t responded as they have. Was pretty obvious that would happen. You don’t run up to someone much bigger than you, kick them in the nuts and expect them to not kick the crap out of you in return.
I support neither sides, and am not saying Israel’s response it excessive or just right, but saying ‘Their response to what terrorists did justifies the initial act’, which is how your last reads, is a rather ignorant attitude.
Point is that neither side can take the moral high ground at all, but both try to.

betty 2 points 7 months ago.

Retaliate? Sure. Nearly two years of slaughtering mostly civilians and blocking all humanitarian aid, even attacking in EU territory? No.
Its a good doc as nearly always from Theroux, he lets thems speak and hang themselves, the utter abhorrent absurdity of their “logic” laid bare.

Control Freak (2025)
darthdirk 1 points 7 months ago.

Could have been good but in the end the plot seems rather convoluted with too many threads not really leading to a satisfying end. This had plenty of good ideas that kept me interested throughout the movie but in the end reminded me of “The woman in the yard” in that a bunch of good ideas don’t always make a good movie.

So far, I love this Aussie Drama/Mystery/Comedy. It’s pretty delicious. Teresa Palmer is a fantastic actor.

Long Way Home (2025)
Dvora 1 points 7 months ago.

I have watched the other three and enjoyed them very much; however, this one seems overly rushed. By the end of episode two they had already seen four of five countries. Even the clips that have been stitched together of the trip seem so brief, like the show is in fast forward. We don’t get a real feel for what Ewen and Charlie are experiencing along the way. I liked it! Oh wasn’t that nice! Oh did you see that!? There is no genuine context to their experiences this time. Still, I look forward to the next episode just to see what is next for them.

Agreed, not nearly as adventurous as the previous installments. They’re definitely showing their age.

Holy crap this movie is dumb. It is a total mind-blowing 1 hour and 41 minutes of a wasted time.

Star Trek: Section 31 (2025) S1 Special
mikebcarguy 1 points 7 months ago.

Such a missed opportunity. Section 31 had a very good run up in Enterprise and Discovery, and Georgiou as a reluctant but capable inductee could’ve been great (she saved our galaxy like one and a half times I think).

After Georgiou’s interaction with The Guardian of Forever it was pretty clear her path to redemption lay in a return to her roots, not hiding out. (And, yeah, Discovery got a, “C+” UNTIL the episodes of, “Short Treks,” were factored in.)

Truly an iconic movie. Remember watching it way too young and it stuck with me, incredibly grim and dark. The David Bowie soundtrack is chef’s kiss!

augusts1 3 points 7 months ago.

I need to watch this for Bowie’s ST alone. I do like grim & dark, they’re good friends of mine lol. These days it gets a bit much & I have to pick when I’m in my best spirits to watch stuff that’s quite heavy. Thanks for commenting & pointing out the ST. I’m a huge Bowie fan! Miss him so.

I also just started ‘Found’ I really like it. Have you seen The Tracker, or The Hunting Party? They are both really good and similar to these. Also if you like medical type The Pitt is really good and if you liked ER you will really like the lead character

greenguy86 1 points 7 months ago.

Yep, I love Tracker & The Hunting Party. I can’t really do the med type shows. I way behind on The Irrational & Found. Both good shows. Hopefully NBC doesn’t cancel them.

i thought it was beautifully filmed and acted… and weaving in the traditional African storytelling/heritage was interesting.. but i had trouble understanding what the whole thing was about!!!

Being well filmed and well acted aren’t enough to make a good episode and yeah same here as the episode really didn’t explain what was going on a whole lot of the time.

I personally love a Hot Fudge. Maybe we should start making movies and shows just black and white and then everyone is happy because instead of watching something, people are looking for racism and more. So much for just enjoying a film or T.V. God I am tired of this BS!!!

Snakebyte -5 points 7 months ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I like all ice cream but boring vanilla the least. Same goes for my choice in entertainment. I’m trying to enjoy something and keep getting bombarded by sociopaths crying like babies on “woke this” and “woke that”.
We get it guys, they never grew up from being bullies because they’re insecure and still think it makes them look cool… but all just grew up to be massive losers.

Why is so much validation needed and shoved down our throats over and over? It’s repetitive, predictable and boring. Too bad. I’m done too.

Odd! It’s a fun sci-fi timey type PK Dick flick. Prefer Ben in comedies though. Even Uma does comedy well, but can handle denser roles better than Ben. And Arron is okay whereever he is.

Mr. K (2025)

Weird, strange, uncanny. It wasn’t unpleasant but it’s one of those artsy fartsy films that supposed to have some kind of meaning. I generally don’t like these type of films - not my genre. Having said that, I thought some of it was funny.

I think I’m done with the show because like most of the post apoc shows, the original threat ( various forms of zombies etc ) become a backdrop and all the characters carry on like it’s normal. Then the show becomes just about folks arguing, falling in love, gossiping and the obligatory military oppression and generally just like watching Coronation Street ( but without the military oppression stuff).

kerfy 0 points 7 months ago.

some might call that propaganda, or subliminal influencing .. maybe product placement.. lol All I really know is the show got too boring and mundane fer my tastes.. too bad, it started out pretty good..
