I find it weird that people make such comments, so only white christians should help and be helped by other white Christians, only Muslims can help and be helped by other Muslims, etc etc. Whats wrong with people helping people?

I can’t believe someone voted your comment down.

Louis Theroux: The Settlers (2025)
Boraes 3 points 7 months ago.

Sigh I’m not placing blame. I’m pointing out the realistic ‘cause and effect’. If you stick you’re hand in boiling water knowing it’s that hot you shouldn’t then argue that water shouldn’t be that hot in the first place.
Then when someone say’s ‘Well it’s not nice to get burnt, but what did you expect to happen doing that’ start accusing others; ‘You then obviously support throwing boiling water on everyone, You can’t assign any fault to the person who stuck their hand in to the boiling water, it’s the water’s fault for letting itself get boiled in the first place’.
What did Hamas expect Israel to do after the attack? Did they assume Israel would be all ‘Oh, that’s fine. Accidents happen, you keep those hostages if you want.’; To think Israel wouldn’t then go on a massive offensive is just the height of wilful naivety and self delusion.
You really don’t seem to understand the basic principles of a) Somethings, such as peoples reactions to terrorist attacks, can be easily foreseen by anyone with a modicum of intelligence b) A third-party perspective, c) that both sides are at fault as it ‘takes two to tango’ and d) Resorting to insults when you lack either the ability or knowledge to engage in civil conversation is really childish and pathetic.

NoelCoyotebleu 2 points 7 months ago.

For Decades Israel has been victimizing the Palestinian people. DECADES. It was going to boil over at some point. Not saying the initial acts of Hamas were horrific, but saying as a people they were being targeted, homes destroyed, land taken, no civil rights, walls, curfews, blocked access to medical, schools, by walls and soldiers. Netanyahu and his extreme right wing cabinet are evil.

50% of US Americans now hate Israel (80% of dems). Lots of my people here (Jews in America) speak out against the apartheid and genocide. Arabs I’ve worked with could see my lineage just looking at my face, but never had a problem with me. Took me until Oct 7 to understand it’s because it’s Zionists they have a problem with. Lots of Jews living in Iran (and all across the Middle East)… they’ve traditionally been protected there (unlike in Europe, Ukraine, Russia and the U.S.)
Israel doesn’t make Jews safer. It’s a failed colonial project. I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t take the route of, “The Samson Option.”

NoelCoyotebleu 1 points 7 months ago.

I had to look up the Samson Option, as I’d never heard about it. thanks.

vrouwke_theelepel 1 points 7 months ago.

This is not just a tragic story about the murder of two sisters, which was made even more tragic due to the police mishandling the calls for help. it is also a story about racism, toxic masculinity, misogyny, a story of a strong family, women, a story of police being at its best and at its worst.

veronicav 1 points 7 months ago.

I got the feeling that the writer got inspired by American gods by Neil Gaiman and tried to offer his own Concept but just try to squeeze too much in and in the end it was just a confusing mess. This would have benefited from the old doctor who format with five parts and two and a half hours. then it might have me all made sense.

greenguy86 3 points 7 months ago.

RTD did make 2 parters. I agree with you on that part. I’m thinking Disney said no. But I like 2 parters or even 3 parters but anything beyond that, probably not going to happen. I enjoyed the episode but with a low episode count, I would venture and say the last 2 episodes will be a 2 parter. This is much more on the fantasy side but it’s still within the Sci-fi scope.

Wow, so overdue. Straight up comedy legends.

random000 9 points 7 months ago*.

They are interviewed separately. In these interviews, they talk about themselves from childhood up to the time they meet. They go into what formed them as people & so on.

Then like in the early movies are driving down the road in a car talking to each other, going over their career together, which includes the bickering that lead to their split in 85 after Tommy refused to take a bit part in the Born In East LA vid.

While they talk, sometimes clips from their flicks are shown, as well as non-movie stuff such as their pioneering stand-up act. Sometimes people from their lives show up in the back seat of the car to offer their own commentary. That includes Tommy’s 1st wife of 10 years Maxine, the mom of Rae Dawn & Robbie Chong, who was neighbors with Shelby during their love triangle.

It’s a good way to go out. Tommy is about 90 years old, close to my dad’s age. Even his beautiful wife Shelby is close to 80. It’s time their lives were covered from their own perspectives while they are still with us, and not after the fact by someone else.

yes - the 47 minute format is not enough to tell the stories - also, the old doctor format had the climax of the story after each episode - which was always something to watch and it made you look forward to the next week..There are some things i really miss about the classic series.

Night Court (2023) S3 E18
moongoddess 0 points 7 months ago.

RIP Night Court. This entire season was a big flop. I struggled to watch season 2 after India De Beaufort, whom portrayed Olivia Moore, did not return. She was replaced with the annoying voiced Wendie Malick, whom portrayed Julianne. Well, at least that is how I perceive her. The scripted dialog and her character persona was horribly not comical at all. I ended up tuning in only for John and the others. I feel that It was India who carried the show into pleasant comedy. I will not miss this remade reboot at all.

Overall, a subpar effort all around, though I understand Willis is doing his best with the challenges he’s facing. God bless him. I guess Michael Rooker had some fun; he looked like he was, anyway. Wasn’t sure about anyone else. I did sort of like the little twist.

Lucky you, I can only see the trailer. By the looks of it, this should be a classic blockbuster.

5/5 for the trailer. :D

random000 7 points 7 months ago*.

Let us not forget that the common Israeli nor the common Palestinian has any say or participation in either of their leaders policies & actions. They’re just people.

As usual, it’s those at the top stirring the pot so that those at the bottom suffer the most for having the pot stirred. Once again, it’s rich vs poor - power vs powerless. And it’s all motivated by silly fake cults bent on fulfilling a fictitious apocalyptic scenario in a fabricated system of delusional criminal thought. Afterall, there’s a pissy little deity having a bad hair day, who is full of so much love that he wants to visit death & destruction upon humanity, starting in Israel, unless they bend the knee. And he’s got a red little cartoon buddy working with him to punish those who don’t bend the knee.

They literally want to drag the rest of the world into this lake of fire doomsday scenario. It won’t stop because they have the power & military toys to manifest their mentally ill goal.

Even though it’s all based on fake b.s. used to manipulate the powerless.

Maybe its me but it doesn’t feel like the same show. It’s lost the sentiment and heart of the previous 3 seasons. I was glad to see it come back for another season but not at the expense of what was once a great series. Did they hire new writers or has it just “stayed too long at the fair”?

…The vast majority of resistence in Papua New Guinnea is with modern weapons. Where are you getting the bow and arrow thing from? I believe you might be referring to the Free Papua fighters, whom 99% of have guns, but there was a human interest story about a guy saying he would fight with bows and arrows if he had to.

Hostile (2018)
BellaMia1 -1 points 6 years ago*.

First thing, the main actress’s acting was bland. Her delivery of lines didn’t feel heartfelt, it felt rehearsed, read out loud. Her pursed lips didn’t help either. And it was hard, if not impossible, to get attach to her character, especially when she would make head-scratching decisions. And it’s frustrating, because the director should know better. The flashbacks were annoying to me, after a while. They unfortunately, broke the pace of the movie. Wish the director did without them. The confinement of the crashed car, made for some claustrophobic uneasiness. And the creature although nothing memorable, was creepy indeed. It had me backing away from my computer screen at times. But the ending though, I did not see coming. It threw for a loop, and THAT I appreciated. Not an easy feat nowadays. And it stayed with me for a while. So in all, it’s a good one-time watch, that could’ve been so much better with some tweaking.
