I have to disagree. Sorry. But as a fan of the cartoons, and my wife who is obsessed with these movies… who LOVED this movie. I have to say your take on this, is just that. Your take. This movie was fantastic. The cast was perfect to each character they played. The dragons looked great. The Dragons were explained the same way they were in the cartoons. They changed a few small things like which arm and leg was removed. OMG… it’s like they didn’t want it to be 100% the same movie made over again so people could see something different.

Now isn’t that just a fancy way of saying “shine a flashlight in their eyes Jim!”?

nice film. teetering on trite and surface at times but thats ok too, but beyond that i loved the subtexts. kinda saint maud meets love lies bleeding meets promising young woman. but what happened with that wade fella, didnt he have the photos? or did she set them both up at the end there? like they were dating so obviously he was in on it no? potentially a saint clare 2 to find gibbs? or was gibbs the cop? i guess the insinuation that she would go after gibbs is enough mystery/ closure for a nice ending though.

None of these other comments are true.
This was terrible, the cast was horrible, they mentioned dragons at the start that don’t make sense at the time, they cut key scenes and added pointless extras instead. They film was visually too dark (I went to the cinema to watch btw) they didn’t focus on hiccup and toothless’ relationship enough and not one other person seems to have noticed they didn’t even cut off the correct arm and leg for Gobber. As a huge fan I went in wanting to enjoy it but they missed the mark by f*ing MILES!

This episode was slow, but I still enjoyed it. Was it me or did the wedding planner’s dad sound like Q?
Def was him lol And I swear he mentions off handed in an episode with picard’s crew that he tried having offspring but they always disappoint or something like that lol Q the biggest trickster of all and his toddler 😂 no wonder why he didn’t want any more kiddos lol the finger snaps gave it away that it’s q, but his voice was just confurrrmation meow I do the q snap and -disappears hehe

TBH I’ve felt that way since pretty much Thor/Iron Man 2. Most of the ‘more mature’ comic book Marvel stuff that Fox, Netflix and Sony did has crashed critically, commercially or both. I think Marvel has gotten the (wrong) message and has avoided adult themes while adding a bit of curse words and gore, but even Deadpool is made so that a 7-year-old can follow it.

The dark and gloomy filming of the first episode almost turned me off of this new mystery series. I am not partial to the blue hued lens that is supposed to create such as atmosphere. However, the writing impressed me. I found the mysteries very good. Even though each mystery has two episode the pace is consistent with no down time. There is lots of misdirection and even a few decent red-herrings to distract the viewer from solving the crime prematurely. If you are a fan of mysteries I recommend taking a peek at this series.

I’m seeing a pattern in this new crime drama, and I’ll need to watch another episode to determine if the pattern continues. I usually don’t see this in British crime dramas but do see it often in American crime dramas.

Audiobook is good, read by Santino Fontana who played Dr. Witticomb in Grotesquerie. He misses proper inflection a couple times but overall well done. The story itself is fantastic, bit of a Firestarter vibe.

I’ve pretty much liked Seema from the start. She’s a good stand-in for Samantha, not a replacement, but a decent stand-in.
As for Aiden, I wasn’t even thinking about the reason he was there, I was thinking more of his jealousy & the obvious interfering he’s going to do with Duncan.
