That was such a twisted, perverted, sad episode.

This show is SO GOOD! Although I’ve arrived rather late to the party, I will say this: binge-watching these episodes now, right before the final season drops, could not be any more perfect!

You people got to watch movies at school?

Any movies we watched were educational. We DID have monthly movie viewings…. after school…. for a dime … bag of popcorn was a nickel. And they usually got something fairly decent to play… usually one of the Disney movies, either a cartoonish movie like Bedknobs and Broomsticks or Escape To Witch Mountain. The (original) Incredible Journey. Old Yeller.

We’d all sit on the floor in the gymnasium and they’d project it (movie-sized) on one wall.
(This all pre-video tape era…Yeah, I’m old.)

Finally, in grade 9, I got a teacher who was more ‘outside of the box’ and we got to watch The Dambusters and Bridge Over The River Kwai while studying WWII.

Funny enough, Benny Hill’s demise wasn’t at all funny. He was alone, obese, depressed and died of heart failure. There were accusations of sexual misconduct as well. Thing is, everything was dropped and virtually lost. He was definitely funny. Even as a very young teen I saw his satire. Never married, no children, he died alone and sad. He didn’t deserve that.

When I was in my mid twenties, I lived in Brentwood, California and worked for a large developer in South Central Los Angleles. Lowe Development. We were taken as a bonus to a comedy club in Westwood. I went to the loo, and on my way out accidentally ran into a long-haired, heavily bearded man. I went back to my colleagues and my table, at which time the manager of the club announced the doors would be locked for the duration of the next special guest. It was the heavily bearded man … ROBIN WILLIAMS! He kept us in stitches, even interacting with everyone still present until 4 am. I will never forget that, or him. Humble, empathetic and oh sooo very missed. I miss you, Robin. ❤️

Have I Got News For You! Nice to see Angus with Rowan in this. Always felt Rowan missed a great calling to portray Eddie Cantor in a biography. They look remarkably alike & Eddie was one of the first great stage comics, just as Atkinson is also a wonderful clown.

I passed through primary school in the 60’s…back then, every other Saturday, our school would actually turn the multi-purpose room into a kids theater so the moms could get a break from us young hooligans and savages…

Pretty progressive. I know we would’ve benefited from the liberal arts in school like that.

Matt Smith always thought he was better than Doctor Who. Towards the end, he was just phoning it in. I did enjoy most of his tenure. No way he would return.

Doctor Who (2023) S2 E6

It’s the standard Doctor Who experience. New Doctor comes in, gets disliked, then after a few eps - don’t want to see them leave. Happened with all of them.

greenguy86 0 points 7 months ago.

I like Calpadi as an actor but didn’t like his Doctor. God, it was such a tedious experience. Much to do with Steven Moffat. RTD makes DW fun. Ncuti is versatile.

On the last day of my public (elementary) school they would play a movie instead of teaching us anything. This was one of the movies they would play and we would often be upset if they chose something else for us to watch. It was played on one of those old reel to reel movie projectors. Great memories and great acting by the beloved Dick Van Dyke. He was the cats pajamas back in the day. Walt Disney was his go to guy for sure.

23:14, “After your mum died, she went after Chin like a heat-seeking fucking missile”, well, I am told that the expression didn’t hit the vernacular until the 70s, so the scenario is taking some creative liberties here…

Jon Voight was one of the greatest actors of the 70s Deliverence in all its fucking glory is brilliant isn’t it. Just because his bitch of a daughter doesn’t like him anymore isn’t wise to why he is so beloved.

This is much better than this newer movie, which is still ok for a small budget 1 location covid type flick with only a few actors.
