This show is SO GOOD! Although I’ve arrived rather late to the party, I will say this: binge-watching these episodes now, right before the final season drops, could not be any more perfect!

You people got to watch movies at school?
Any movies we watched were educational. We DID have monthly movie viewings…. after school…. for a dime … bag of popcorn was a nickel. And they usually got something fairly decent to play… usually one of the Disney movies, either a cartoonish movie like Bedknobs and Broomsticks or Escape To Witch Mountain. The (original) Incredible Journey. Old Yeller.

We’d all sit on the floor in the gymnasium and they’d project it (movie-sized) on one wall.
(This all pre-video tape era…Yeah, I’m old.)
Finally, in grade 9, I got a teacher who was more ‘outside of the box’ and we got to watch The Dambusters and Bridge Over The River Kwai while studying WWII.

Oh, yeah…. NO Freakin Remakes.. it would end up being some Pixar bullshit.
Funny enough, Benny Hill’s demise wasn’t at all funny. He was alone, obese, depressed and died of heart failure. There were accusations of sexual misconduct as well. Thing is, everything was dropped and virtually lost. He was definitely funny. Even as a very young teen I saw his satire. Never married, no children, he died alone and sad. He didn’t deserve that.
absolutely, no one deserves go out that way…and then, even worse yet, trail off into obscurity

Aww… so unfortunate. Saw some sort of documentary that covered the end of his life & that was sad.
I love all his movies and stand up comedy.
When I was in my mid twenties, I lived in Brentwood, California and worked for a large developer in South Central Los Angleles. Lowe Development. We were taken as a bonus to a comedy club in Westwood. I went to the loo, and on my way out accidentally ran into a long-haired, heavily bearded man. I went back to my colleagues and my table, at which time the manager of the club announced the doors would be locked for the duration of the next special guest. It was the heavily bearded man … ROBIN WILLIAMS! He kept us in stitches, even interacting with everyone still present until 4 am. I will never forget that, or him. Humble, empathetic and oh sooo very missed. I miss you, Robin. ❤️
Always wanted to pinch those cheeks. The ones on his face too. Bwaah.

Have I Got News For You! Nice to see Angus with Rowan in this. Always felt Rowan missed a great calling to portray Eddie Cantor in a biography. They look remarkably alike & Eddie was one of the first great stage comics, just as Atkinson is also a wonderful clown.
What a crazy event. Yet could’ve happened from any of the huge tidal events that have happened.
Wow, what a great episode!
I’ve been seeing clips of this “Tommy” character but never bothered watching any “Power” shows.
This is my introduction to the Power-Verse, and what an amazing start.
I passed through primary school in the 60’s…back then, every other Saturday, our school would actually turn the multi-purpose room into a kids theater so the moms could get a break from us young hooligans and savages…
Pretty progressive. I know we would’ve benefited from the liberal arts in school like that.
1-2-3 are still the best and each have their own style. I can’t tell the last 5 or 6 ones apart.
He’s doing 3 seasons and then leaving and making way for that guy from House of the Dragons play the Doctor again.
Matt Smith always thought he was better than Doctor Who. Towards the end, he was just phoning it in. I did enjoy most of his tenure. No way he would return.
It’s the standard Doctor Who experience. New Doctor comes in, gets disliked, then after a few eps - don’t want to see them leave. Happened with all of them.
I like Calpadi as an actor but didn’t like his Doctor. God, it was such a tedious experience. Much to do with Steven Moffat. RTD makes DW fun. Ncuti is versatile.
Yes. And they actually did! 1st & only time we saw that was at school, just not for a holiday. But didn’t find it creepy as much as I found it just good eye candy.

Under NO circumstances do I want to see a remake of this. The original is just fine !
Those in agreement, raise your hand.
Very good stuff to be stuck with! But as Cass noted those had heavy tv rotation. The 5000 Fingers Of Dr. T would’ve been more special just for it’s obscure rarity.
Would you have rathered they’d play something just as creepy like https://www.primewire.tf/movie/96376-the-5-000-fingers-of-dr-t
🤣 🤣 🤣

They did, they showed us that bloody movie every chance they got haha. Still hate it. Yet love the other movies. The Tales From The Crypt was pretty dark stuff as well though.

That’s not cool those were on the tv once a year. Wizard of Oz was shown every Easter long weekend and the other at Christmas. I feel bad for you.
On the last day of my public (elementary) school they would play a movie instead of teaching us anything. This was one of the movies they would play and we would often be upset if they chose something else for us to watch. It was played on one of those old reel to reel movie projectors. Great memories and great acting by the beloved Dick Van Dyke. He was the cats pajamas back in the day. Walt Disney was his go to guy for sure.
23:14, “After your mum died, she went after Chin like a heat-seeking fucking missile”, well, I am told that the expression didn’t hit the vernacular until the 70s, so the scenario is taking some creative liberties here…
…And then suddenly the theatres in America were full and an unknown lady became famous.

Shot more than a decade earlier than the Amanda Seyfried movie, this doc is a good companion piece.

Jon Voight was one of the greatest actors of the 70s Deliverence in all its fucking glory is brilliant isn’t it. Just because his bitch of a daughter doesn’t like him anymore isn’t wise to why he is so beloved.
I just don’t care for his acting for certain characters. Christopher Walken is another actor from the 70’s I’ve never cared for. He actually gives me the willies.
Swinging 70s…. wasn’t so swinging for everybody… even if they were swinging…

Matt Smith has said he would never play the doctor again. Only less likely scenario is Eccleston coming back (another guy who has said he would never do it again) lol
Always wanted to pinch those cheeks. The ones on his face too. Bwaah.
This was a very underrated film. Well worth the watch. I’d totally watch it again. 5/5
It is. But have never met anyone who wanted to swap their mom for this mom ☺
This is much better than this newer movie, which is still ok for a small budget 1 location covid type flick with only a few actors.

Are you being for real? Matt Smith is going to be the next doctor? Is it like a special or is it an entire series?
yes I agree. Perverted, dirty old man , and yes demented is a great adjective to describe Benny for sure.

He’s a bit like a demented cherub in his tv show. Hard to find all those episodes. Like Wile E. Coyote, Benny Hill = Super Genius.

😂😂😂😂 I just listed a bunch of long gone comedic greats and I didn’t list Benny Hill. Shame on me

“That guy” is Matt Smith and he played The Doctor from 2010-2014 (46 episodes). House of the Dragon started in 2022. Kinda reversed things a wee bit.
I’m not giggling. You’re the one giggling. You stop giggling. Or Benny Hill will come get you & turn you into a toy for Baron Bomburst.

hahaha. You always make me laugh. You are the best girlfriend.

The series has felt different. Much better than the first. I will be sad if Ncuti does in fact leave after this series. I think he is brilliant. I want to see more of him.

oh yes. He is a Comedian God when he was alive now he’s with all the others like Andy Kaufman, John Candy, John Belushi, Gilda Radner. I could go on and on my friend :)
it’s been a minute since I’ve watched this. I know I haven’t seen it since Robin died. It is a fab little movie and all the kids are really good at their characters. It is so different from what Coppola’s movies usually are. I sure miss Robin. RIP Buddy you are still the bomb.
Whatever Happened to Baby Jane still freaks me out! I love The Incredible Mr Limpet!
It’s a rather inappropriate film for any age & it was weaponized against us, haha. But among the Don Knotts flicks, and there are many, Mr. Limpet is certainly at the top. Don’t think Van Dyke made near as many as he did… but then, never counted either….
Yeah, I’ll never forget those mad crazy cat lady eyebrows. Your school sucked haha
Batty, right? We had an odd school system. Perfect chance to show kids Dick Van Dyke & Sally Ann Howe singing songs but nooooo…. crazy Crawford with her weirdo drawn on eyebrows battling mean ol Betty… yep…. They showed that instead.
Yeah, I’ll never forget those mad crazy cat lady eyebrows. Your school sucked haha

That was such a twisted, perverted, sad episode.
