The China Hustle (2018)

Unfortunately another must see that will at the same time break down your hopefulness and faith after seeing examples of the worst corruption and unethical behavior. The only real question is how common are such embellishments to outright fraud in financial markets at any time or place?
I can still recall much of this documentary myself. I would say as far as such things go its well produced to be engaging material even though if edited like so much similar things often are it could be similarly mind numbingly boring.

This was released in 2018 and probably made in 2017. In 2017 Trump killed housing regulations and then private equity firms bought up all the single family houses in desirable neighborhoods along with condos and apartments. That’s why housing in the USA now costs triple what it did 8 years ago. Many of these private equity firms are Chinese owned shell companies.

Some more actors getting onboard: Ernie Hudson has joined the cast of the Blue Bloods spinoff Boston Blue. He will play Reverend Peters, a Baptist pastor who’s the patriarch of a Boston law enforcement dynasty that includes his daughter, District Attorney Mae Silver, and his granddaughter, Det. Lena Silver (Sonequa Martin-Green from Star Trek Discovery). Sonequa Martin-Green, who will play Danny’s new partner in the spinoff. I can’t find anything on the actress who will Hudson’s daughter Mae Silver. Possibly this character has not been cast yet. Boston Blue will air this fall on Fridays but no start date has been announced yet.

This movie is hysterical, and quite unintentionally. Burt Reynolds’ paraody of a political is worth the watch. However, Demi Moore’s obsession with herself at this stage in her career, even went as far as to get a face lift that rendered her unrecognisable. She then had several procedures to reverse, and endorsed a line of beauty products stating that it was the cremes that kept her youthful. 🙄 The most interesting bit of trivia is that Demi’s IRL daughter, Rumer Willis, plays her daughter in this movie. Worth it for a laugh.

Yep, Debbie did a variety of things through the 80s, 90s, 2000s, even appearing in Romero’s Tales From The Darkside. She did Six Ways To Sunday, Deuces Wild, Elegy, My Life Without Me, New York Stories, Spun, Blank Generation & Body Bags with that infamous Mark Hamill & Twiggy scene in it. Her best appearance I think was the movie Roadie with her band Blondie performing. Most would probably say 1983 Videodrome with James Woods since it’s Cronenberg, but our family digs the fun comedy flick more.

I stopped buying anything but organic a while back, because I adore tomatoes, apples, mango, corn, etc. Capitalism in and of itself isn’t bad, but greed-driven capitalism is EVIL. Unfortunately, when a government gets involved with all its subsidies and power players, it inevitably is no longer thematic Capitalism, it is EVIL capitalism that consumes all it touches with foulness most unfair and most harmful. Another fallacy is what we pay for organic. It’s absurd! It is actually easier to grow Organic, but, again, the powers that be make all sorts of stupid rules about the land being away from any land where say livestock that aren’t being reared by organic standards are, and so on. They have such a strict and absurd set of legal definitions that it can and does make certification as organic very expensive.

Seeds of Death: Unveiling the Lies of GMOs (2012)
Jirido 8 points 7 months ago.

Self restraints are something fairly new to man. It is the power of science that have introduced the need for that and now we need a science of self restraint in front of the insane powers of science.. But will it happen in time?? Will self preservation as a inheritable society prevail over the corruptly over promoted limited identity of individual self in capitalism?
Sadly I don’t believe so. But I will pretend to, if only to provide my self a support for a correct acting and with that a somewhat worthy end.
We together here will move around, hanging out at cheap movie sites and follow one and other in to the long night.. It is nice and a bit comforting to see you care.

random000 7 points 7 months ago.

Well thought out inner dialogue. These are the considerations which must form an ethic that we must have an emotional IQ on par or higher than our development & deployment of a technology in the global public sphere. This type of maturity must figure into what governs not only our scientific deployments, but also our economic configurations.

The Score (2001)
yellow_rose1 1 points 7 months ago. (Contains Spoilers)

It is definitely what people call a slow burn, but boy is it worth it. It all comes together with an unforeseen ending that is priceless to watch. I usually can predict the end of a movie. Probably because I’ve watched so many of them. This is my first watch too. I’ve never stopped to take a chance at this movie because “the last big score” movies are not my cup of tea. However it was the cast that ultimately decided my move. I’m so glad I did too

12 years these guys have been digging and seriously I truly believe they’ll never find it. So many people have dug that area before them and definitely whatever was down there has turned into a pile a rubble and shifted who knows where scattered all over the place. Some times it’s good to watch as they use machinery and technology that’s quite amazing but it gets to a point that the constant repeating of segments and other bits can be irritating. Anyway good luck to them
