Weird, dystopian future, freaky, cute - I liked it.

Dexter: Original Sin (2024)
Arcangel2020 1 points 7 months ago.

I really liked this new “Dexter” series, I thought the cast really did a solid job of playing the younger version of the characters we see in the original “Dexter” series. I also liked how it represented Miami in the “old days” back in The 90ies era (LOL). Nice to hear/learn that there will be a second season too

Anyway, it was an interesting tale.

I know the Christian faithful are commanded to bear witness by God and few will be saved but it is obvious that Lucifer rules this world and will use those steeped in their sin to ridicule and persecute them. The saints paid the price with their mortal lives just as Jesus did and those that continue to do so.

Lol #HotTazerLady this was a solid episode but it’s not as good as what last week’s episode was.

Mikeonalpha 1 points 7 months ago.

no not as good.. Belinda was hardly in it - ans she’s a better character/companion than Ruby.. it was just ok… sort of channeling Elon Musk and the billionaire influences, i guess.. though not really sure what the theme was supposed to be…

This show is a guilty pleasure, so happy to see Kim Dickins in this, I adored her in FTWD.

Directed by Drew Barrymore (who also has a small role), this heart-stopper is chock-full of excellent acting with the likes of Elliot Page, Kristen Wiig, Alia Shawkat, Marcia Gay Harden, Juliette Lewis, Andrew Wilson and others… truly remarkable and worthy of several watches.

They are rebooting the series for 2025, I hope it goes well.

Ryan Coogler is at the helm so I have high hopes. Chris Carter isn’t involved but gave his blessing and hopes it goes well. Gillian Anderson alluded to being open to appear in the series.

Would have been ok if it was 100 minutes long. Also poorly written for a character-driven slow-burn. Travis Fimmel’s character could have been an interesting antagonist.

There was also another reboot series you can see it here which was what I was referring to. The movie itself wasn’t horrible, but didn’t hold a candle to X-Files classic procedural or stand alone creature feature. The “reboot series” I was referring to is in fact attached to the original show here on PW as seasons 10 and 11.

I have to agree the the movie released in 1998, I thought was a huge let down. The trailer promised to reveal the “secrets” that Mulder had been trying to uncover from the smoking man. None of that happened.

I have a lot of hope. It’s more like a special IMO: “Duchovny and Anderson are reprising their roles of FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dany Scully, respectively, alongside X-Files creator Chris Carter, who has returned to helm the procedural revival.”
“In a statement, Carter said, “I think of it as a 13-year commercial break. The good news is the world has only gotten that much stranger, a perfect time to tell these six stories.”
Thanks for the heads-up, by the way!

Although I tend to agree with you, here’s hoping lol. But you are probably right, they have already brought the series “back” once and for me, it didn’t go well at all, and this probably wont either.

Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)

Sadly the film did end the Skywalker storyline in a way that was everything that Return Of The Jedi just wasn’t.

Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983)
hellsingfan01 5 points 7 months ago.

This is a film that should have ended Star Wars as it wrapped up all of the characters arcs from the previous films beautifully and while yes we did get the prequel trilogy this is the film that should have ended the films from a canonical point of view.

My thoughts as well. But this show is too depressing to view 2 full seasons again. I’ll watch the last episode from season 4… if I can get through it. This show is depressingly maga-esque for me.

Maybe its me but it doesn’t feel like the same show. It’s lost the sentiment and heart of the previous 3 seasons. I was glad to see it come back for another season but not at the expense of what was once a great series. Did they hire new writers or has it just “stayed too long at the fair”?

has its funny moment,s, you’ll certainly be laughing a lot but the plot………..ehhhh a bit all over the place and lots of holes in it but if you liked the first movie, you’ll have a soft spot for this, I do encourage folks you won’t understand anything not least the inside jokes if you don’t watch the first movie. Not a sequel that needed to be made but beats the stupid crash and burn reboots and with nothing else to watch enjoy this and the accountant 2 .

every movie has accidents… even on the set of Mary Poppins Julie Andrews almost died. I say let it run and make all the money it can… I’m betting the lawyers for the deceased will be laying a claim against all that money. THAT is how you change the industry to prioritize safety… kick them in the money bags!

hellsingfan01 3 points 7 months ago.

Yes but there’s a huge difference between someone almost dying and someone actually dying tho.

This shitty movie should never have seen the light of day…..Why was it released? All the crew walked offset because of all the daily safety concerns and it echoes an insensitive criminal case which screams more of the safety neglect! Shame on Baldwin for releasing this narcissistic, unprofessional mess !

I am all for some small changes but wow way to f up so much stuff Marvel. Taskmaster got done even dirtier then in Black Widow. Atleast in that movie Task still had there powers. In this got killed like a nobody. They are called The Thunderbolts cause Thunderbolt Ross forms them not to be named after A Damn Youth Soccer Team. For some who don’t read comics they wont care. But damn I am invested in the lore of them I do read comics and it pisses me off. When you screw up this bad. If you wanted a Random Assassin Woman make a new character don’t ruin and sex change someone who has 30 Years of Lore as the best hand to hand male fighter in the Marvel Rouge Gallery. Take the last movie They took away the power of The Serpent Society there now dudes with guns. Sorry for the rant but if you want to race, sex, power swap stuff MAKE A NEW DAMN CHARACTER. Don’t make comic fans excited for something and then not give us said something.

Yeah, that really got me mad about Taskmaster as well as they have this really cool character who they could have fixed and made better in this movie and yet they have her in ONE scene where they very quickly kill her off.
