Things Are Tough All Over (1982)

Fun 4th Cheech & Chong film has Tommy’s wife Shelby & Cheech’s then wife Rikki. Pat Morita’s wife centerfold Evelyn Guerrero returns as Donna. Bassist Jennifer Condos from Just A Little Harmless Sex & The Last Days Of Frankie The Fly is in it. Funny men Rip Taylor & George Wallace also have parts.

Why is so much validation needed and shoved down our throats over and over? It’s repetitive, predictable and boring. Too bad. I’m done too.

We in the LGBTQ+ community have heterosexuality crammed down OUR throats basically from the moment we are born. Day in, day out in our faces, put into our brains, often we are forced to be someone we are not through “conversion therapy”. Shut the fuck up and stop crying every time we are represented in anything.

LOL Downvoted by Nazi fucks.

Cheech and Chong's Next Movie (1980)

Great flick. Has bit appearances by Cheech’s then wife Rikki Marin who was also known for Gas Pump Girls. Also has an appearance by Tommy’s wife Shelby.

Cannes Confidential (2023)
elin 1 points 7 months ago.

Genuinely had the potential to be a great TV-series, but falls short on weird visual effects, not including much of the local surroundings of Cannes and lack of French in dialogues. They literally say “Cannes PD” when introducing themselves as police. Just fees so lazy.

I heard they finished because the family of the one who died asked for them to finish it? So her death would not be for nothing? Could just be rumors

magically_delicious 1 points 7 months ago.

Halyna Hutchins mother and sister (apparently) both want her to be remembered and praise the film as stunning due to Halyna’s talent and encourage people to watch it in remembrance of her. They refused to attend the premiere in Poland and are suing Baldwin. I haven’t watched the movie, and probably won’t. I don’t know how I feel about any of it, I just think jokes about the shooting and the subsequent tragic death, are in very bad taste (the ones other people have made).

Not only should this film never see the light of day, Im honestly surprised that Alec didnt just bow out of acting all together. Actually, Im not surprised at all. Hollywood has already welcomed him back with open arms, cameos and multi season reality TV shows. Dude is pure scum but no surprise he’s been welcomed back into scum city Hollywood.

Well said…and his silly wife with the fake accent, pretending to be Latino , when she’s from a rich American family from Boston. The fakeness of Hollywood and the nutjobs that live in it…..is something I never want to experience.

Yellowstone (2018)
Piglet 1 points 7 months ago.

Some news on another spin off of Yellowstone. Beth and Rip will live on! A new series titled Dutton Ranch with Hauser and Reilly and other cast members of Yellowstone will join them. Of course, nothing has been decided when production will begin. And, additionally, a show about the Yellowstone character Kayce Dutton is coming in 2026. This on top of The Madison, a spinoff starring Michelle Pfeiffer, and 1944, another prequel. Dang, Sheridan sure is milking Yellowstone which is fine if the new dramas are well written and the director is good.

The attention to scenic and cultural detail is amazing. I remember being absolutely annoyed by “space sci-fy shows” in which all the Aliens in the whole universe would speak in New York vernacular English (something rediculously specific of sorts). The cinematography is amazing too. Script wise now, the fake insurgency idea that serves the Empire is nuanced in a similar manner and is equivalent to the aesthetics. Very impressed. Its like a magnifying glass looking into the Star wars universe.

The criticaldrinker on YT does a nice little breakdonw of the charachter dynamics of the show. I also placed one along the same lines on an earlier SO2 episode. As its an adaptaion they shoould have not killed Joel off, As he and Ellie are the two character types that need to be in the show to keep it balanced. You cant have 2 5 foot 2 110lb teenagers having little life experience have any meaningful dynamic in a relationship as there is no contrast. So apart from the real story of Elleis revenge and other plots it’s gonna be a Alphabet mafia agenda, which will be boring unless your gay. Sad as this is another show that could have really made something of itself.

I think if you wait a full day to reexamine this episode, you’ll find that it’s all over the place. I watched it half asleep and it felt very disjointed. Would Kate Stewart really do that. I know our villain will play a part later on. Ruby was not treated well in this episode and she deserved better. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good either.

Yes, Kate would do something like that we’ve seen how she acts when The Doctor isn’t there in The Day Of The Doctor.

Correct me if I’m wrong but Brandon’s death was also completely preventable and lead to reforms in gun handling because of the negligence case against the films producers right? They for some reason loaded a real, live firing gun with metal casings for a shot instead of a prop or even disabled gun, then as a result of that completely unnecessary negligence there was a gun malfunction later.

bobjoneschar 5 points 7 months ago.

Brandons’ death was even crazier than that. The pawn shop scene was filmed at an actual pawn shop, so everything in there was authentic, including the ammunition. When the armorer found out he was furious and closed down the set, collected the live rounds, and took them to his trunk. About a week goes by and the armorer removes the live cartridges and powder from the pawn shop ammo leaving just the casing with the unused primers so he could use them for close up shots of the gun. They shot the scenes using the pawn shop ammo with dummy cartridges, not realizing a primer still has enough force to eject the dummy round, which it did and lodged it in the barrel. Like another week goes by according to the detective that investigated, and the armorer loads a blank round into the gun, without checking the barrel, hands it to the actor and bang. The blank fires the obstruction right out of the barrel and into poor Brandon’s heart. Talk about a bullet having your name on it. There’s a fantastic documentary about the whole thing but I’m blanking on the name.

yeah it was a bit lacking, would have preferred a deeper character with anthony hopkins than conservative vitriol, but its nice they mentioned death wish. i would add almost rorschach-esque. so he mocked any religious salvation or grief in that sense, ok, but then didnt offer anything further than revenge i guess.. nor do i really have an answer
